We're smitten with the mitten. A little northwest of Lansing for us. And Muskegon has an awesome beach north of the state park. Not many people there usually. We hit the U.P. a couple times of year for some trail riding too!
What’s the name of the beach!? We go to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes and would love to check out a new, fun, beach!
I don't know if it has a name. It's basically just to the north of the Muskegon State Park public beach. Instead of going all the way south to the State park beach, go the opposite direction on Scenic Drive about a mile or so. You will see areas where cars have obviously parked along the road edge, and trails into the woods. It's only a very short walk to the water on those paths, and very few people there. You can have the place to your own, with plenty of privacy. Many of the pics in our albums on this site were shot there. We love it!
Coming first time at end of Oct. 2018. What is it like? Any must do things or places to eat? Detroit metro area here.
Coming to TTR? There are activities you can do... The typical beach resort stuff like watersports, and plenty of places for day excursions, but I don't believe many book those. Some enjoy booking a massage at the spa. Visiting nearby Isla Mujures for a day is a stop many enjoy, but it seems most TTR guests come for one primary reason... for the party. It's just a great party every day and a fantastic place to make new friends. That's why we go. The other guests are SO FRIENDLY! That's our favorite thing about TTR. The one "must-do" activity is a Boobs Cruise. It's an awesome time and a day on the water like no other! As for the restaurants, we've enjoyed them all, but there are others on here who are better foodies than we are and perhaps they can give more info on their favorites. And if you are coming at the end of October you've already got two new friends - Stephanie and I will be there then as well! Welcome!
Pure Michigan! We are in the Detroit area and do our TTR trip in June with a great group of friends from all over. Between trips we hang out on Lake St. Clair and at our marina as much as we can.
