Was on alpha rooms and if I do the British site the cost would be for a week 1800lbs converted to dollars it’s 2400 bucks. Same room same time on the American version it’s 3400 dollars. Obviously I’m going to take the pounds route and let th bank do the conversion. Anybody ever deal with this. Fwiw 5 years ago I used the British site and it worked out.
If I remember correctly, some of our American friends tried this a few years back but the transaction gets rejected by Alpharooms if you're trying to use the British rates with a non-British card. I have no idea why it's cheaper for Brits. Maybe a tax thing?
Yep very true. They will cancel and charge you the USD rate. Well this was 4 or 5 years ago but no one coming on here and saying ‘the trick’ would work. Their explanation is they are marketing to a different audience and to get the uk tourist they had to lower the price. If you are actually from the uk you should be fine but if you are from American then please let the rest of us know if it works. Maybe they are not enforcing it anymore but would expect that they are sadly
When we went in 2013 didn’t know there was a us site maybe there wasn’t and it worked then. So I don’t know.
