I don't think CCC would have ever done PJ night unless the hotel started it off. The hotel have dropped PJ night only just recently with little notice, people visiting soon had ordered PJ's especially and don't want to waste their purchase. I'd guess that there wont be any more PJ nights proposed on CCC now everyone knows the new schedule.
Catholic schools and private schools still have uniforms in Canada. Like Marilyn always says.... "Spent 5 years (Grade 13 existed in our day) having to wear a fuckin' kilt everyday. When I finished High school I burned my 3 kilts and I ain't ever wearing one again." It was a Catholic school and they had civvies day one day a month and she wore painted on jeans and a strategically ripped rock T-Shirt (with some anti-Christ messaging...i. e. Black Sabbath) every civvies, hoping to provoke the nuns.
Yeah our daughter also has a one day a month wear what you want day. Not quite into the anti christ / personal message stuff yet.......But probably only a matter of time
Haha, a little bit of a tangent. When I was at school (late seventies /early eighties) we had a strict uniform code too. We had to wear black shoes, white shirt, school tie and black coat or school blazer. I wore 10 hole Doc Martins and we tied our ties backwards so we had the thin end showing for an inch and the large part of our tie was tucked under the shirt. We wore two tone braces for our trousers and a Harrington jacket. My Ska days. Then I discovered punk, and dyed my hair blue, but only at weekends. Played hooky from school, went drinking in town instead and got chased by skinheads. Then I'd go to gigs at the weekend and they wouldn't let me in because I wasn't 18. Those were the days!
I enjoyed the tangent Mate! @Steve Having lived thru the Punk, Ska, And New Wave eras, just across the pond, I feel like I was there with ya, playing hooky and drinkin' behind malls and looking for skinheads to beat up.
