That was one of the best 1st time Trip Reports I've ever read, and I think... I may have read them all.... Sorry to hear that The Royal in Playa was no fun, before we found TTR, and one trip after, we loved going there.
thanks @Stacia_and_John, we hope it helped at least 1 other person make the decision to try TTR out. We liked The Royal in Playa and by no means were throwing shade at it, we did enjoy our stay there, we have even recommended it to other friends. However, TTR for us was more fun, and more party, and felt more like what we were looking for. We both like to socialize, drink, and dance; to us TTR fit this perfectly.
I’ve done the Royal too and still recommend it to this day. However, if you want to socialize and have fun it’s probably not the resort to be at as it’s more quiet and laid back. We’re looking for the same as you so hopefully TTR will be just as great for us! Perhaps we’ll see you there if you ever decide to go around March
We still consider ourselves as newbies after being there only once in Feb, but we did a lot of homework on here (and thanks to Steve and all the vets, this is the place to really get the details and have fun while away from "THE" Place). We were told repeatedly, and we are only relaying the message, that unless you're looking for male singles and March breakers, it is best to avoid March altogether. Just trying to warn like we were. So as a result, we booked Nov-Dec with Chaos and will most likely book then for next April!! Hope to meet you guys!
We have read the warnings about March but for us it’s the only time we can go... hoping that higher prices since the reno are driving some of the spring breakers away...

Couldn't agree more. For us it was a huge hurdle to go try something like this, and after we arrived, it was all in our heads and built up anticipation about nothing. EVERYONE is incredibly nice, the party is fun, no one knows you and no one gives a shit. Go have fun.
