This trip report/review will be long so we will apologize in advance. There are a million of these first timer reports, but since those helped us decide to take the plunge, we feel obligated to post one as well incase it helps other couples. First we want to start by thanking all the amazing people we met over our time: Davon & Missy, Scott & Stacy, Jamie & Chris, Greg, Mark & Becky, Brian & Christy, Todd, and many more of you we apologize we left you off the list! We had a blast with all of you, it was incredible to meet you all, and spend the week partying our asses off.

We will disclose that we are a young couple and that going to Temptation was a big stretch for us. We have never been to a resort anything close to as wild as this place. We have previously been to other all inclusives, most notably about 6 months ago we were at The Royal in Playa Del Carmen where only 1 couple talked to us all week, I am happy to report that DID NOT HAPPEN AT TTR!

    Arrival:

We will echo what it seems like everyone on here does, we used USA Transfers from the airport, it was seamless and exceptionally easy as everyone else reports. Our driver didn't have beer in the van, but was more than happy to stop along the route at OXOX for 2 tallboys to get the festivities started properly. This outfit is first class, highly recommend them, and we have previously used Lomas Travel in the past. USA Transfers was cheaper, and the process was easier. We asked and were able to prepay via a paypal link before the trip which also was great as we weren't carrying a ton of extra cash.

The lobby was/is impressive. This place feels swanky when you walk in. To us this was impressive compared to other places. Check in was quick and painless. We got the room we asked for*, and the process was pretty quick. We were sent off to meet with the lady to “welcome us to the resort.” Because we had read so much about this on the forums, we were able to keep this meeting short. *We did book a “ocean view” room, and ended up with a room that you would have to call a side ocean view at best, however, the AC worked, room didn't smell, it appeared to be quiet, and we planned to spend minimal time at best in the room, so we didn't complain about not being front and center on the water. These rooms are impressive, they feel nice, modern, and sexy. There are plenty of things to complain about (lack of hooks, not enough outlets, a shower that has no substantial water pressure) but overall cool rooms.

    Restaurants:

We ate at Amores, Sea Flirt, Romanza and Rain. We love to cook at home which is normally leaves us less than impressed at most all inclusives. While nothing was five star or Michelin quality, you don't come here to eat five star meals nor are you paying for that level of food. We tried lots of food, had several pleasant surprises and no one was sick which is more than we can say about other resorts. If you go hungry, it is your own fault. We eat Keto, and had options if we wanted, but let ourselves cheat while on vacation. The sound in these restaurants is horrible, which is the major downside, we constantly felt we had to scream to hear each other across the table which is neither fun or sexy. We didn't understand the complaint on shorts in the restaurants, ladies spend TONS of time and money to look stunning, and while yes you are on vacation, it takes no real effort to wear pants and to us it did help the ambiance the resort is trying to set.

Amores: We had lunch here upon arrival. The food here was tolerable. This was our least favorite meal of the week. We both ordered the Fajitas, the portions were small, but were encouraged to hit up the buffet, so we did. Nothing notable to report here.

Sea Flirt: First night dinner here. Our report on this place is skewed. Thanks to the shot towers at the pool, we were intoxicated when we stumbled into this place. Food here was good. This is by far the best looking restaurant at the resort. We had the shrimp, soups, ribeye, and a fish entree of some sorts. Solid meal, sorry the details are foggy on this one, but we left happy.

Rain: Breakfast and Lunch in this place daily, Francisco was our server, made a point daily to come find us. Not sure why this place gets a bad rap. Food was different every day, always hot, having been to other resorts buffets, food here is good. We are picky eaters, and always found something. Omelets were good and fresh, taco station was great, guac was consumed daily, and drinks never sat empty. If you go hungry, it is your fault.

Romanza: We had dinner here twice as Flame was closed for a Premier event. Be prepared to wait. Luckily the bar helps with the wait. Got the steak and the chicken florentine, both excellent, we may even try to make the chicken florentine at home it was very good. We had potato soup which was ok, as were the 2 salads we ordered. Our waiter encouraged a desert, which was nice, chocolate cake, as well as the chocolate tart were both excellent, also a surprise as we normally hate desserts from all inclusives. The flaming coffee was a spectacle, however, we had heard various reports that it looked much better than it tasted so we did not try.

Sutra: The little appetizers were good, we should have asked for a second. We ordered the chop suey which was good. We had ramen and the wonton soup, both were tasty. We also ordered pork pad thai, which was terribly over sauced and didn't resemble thai at all, but it was edible. Next time (yes there WILL be a next time) we will order the Pork ribs as they looked delicious, and the pork rib appetizer was delicious. We were able to watch the hibachi show as we dinned. While it looked incredibly entertaining, we heard mixed reviews on the actual food. K loves hibachi so we will probably also try this next time as well.

    Bash/Sexy Pool:

There is no other way to put it, Bash is fun. The nightly shows may not be at the level of other resorts, but the party is fantastic and goes until well past when you are ready to quit. Other resorts we have been to were dead at midnight, but here the party was still ramping up at midnight. It rained every night we were there, so the stage was closed, but we had a great time regardless. We didn't have problems getting drinks, but the alcohol quality left much to be desired. The Bash burger and fresh fries when drunk and stumbling back to the room are AMAZING!!!

The topless aspect around the Sexy Pool were one of K’s biggest apprehension going into TTR. Sexy bottoms were never the issue, but she had made the declaration she would NOT under any circumstances be going topless. It took about 4 hours on day 1 before she felt comfortable. To our surprise when more tops are off than on, it really isn't a big deal. The daily entertainment and music around the pool is SUBSTANTIALLY better than other resorts. The games are fun, the party rocks, the chairs blow, but you aren't in the chairs much as the action is in the water. The water is too deep and there is no question about it. When it's insane hot, the water is nice, but any drop in temperature outside the water is freezing. Shot towers here keep the party going and help the party vibe. Lots of advice on here for newbies to meet people by bringing them shots. While we found this effective, we had far more luck just introducing ourselves to new people every time we were at the bar for a drink.

Whoever thinks you do not need a hot tub in Cancun is not thinking clearly. This a party! We wished it was open later, 7PM is too early often the party was just getting started when security showed up to shut it down for the night. Newbies, jump in and mingle, don't pass on the hot tub.

We had debated even including anything about lifestyle in the review, but since it was another major area of concern before our trip we thought it might help another newbie. To be 100% clear, we are not LS, we are not curious about LS, nor were we there for anything other than to party our butts off. Did we run into LS couples...likely, but we will never know. We never had a single issue, every person we met was EXCEPTIONALLY nice to us, and we felt respected 100% of the time even by the single guys we met. We think this issue has been 100% overblown by the net, and had nothing but a great time our entire trip. We never felt a single ounce of pressure and it was the biggest non-event of the trip.

Overall, this was a great trip, 4 nights 5 days was just slightly too short, next time we will add one more night. We met great people, had a good time, partied our asses off, and cannot wait to go back. The people that go are who make this resort great. Thank you to everyone who helped us out both before we went, and after we arrived. Thank you to everyone for being great and we absolutely cannot wait to come back and party with you all again!

Great time to go. Look at the Hotties and Hellraisers thread on this forum. There should also be one for early November too. Hope to see you on Halloween.
