What is the threshold Age that is considered too old for TTR? Obviously there is No mandatory retirement from the resort. But when does it become uncute to be there? I have been trying to convince a family member to try TTR, but he says he is too old. He is 78. He says younger guests would not want old people around, would inhibit the party vibe for some and in fact, thinks it would bother a few. I try to tell him no would care and many would think its admirable. He says that would be patronizing! So maybe he is right? I am not in the seniors' age bracket yet. Never really thought of the impending day when we might be "Too Old" for the place. If there is such a thing!??? And if there is, when does one enter the realm? Is there a certain age that TTR stops being fun? Or moreover an age demographic that negatively impacts the vibe of the resort?
You're too old when you feel you're too old........BUT....imo you need to tell him that if he's worried about "others" thinking he's too old............well FUCK them............and tell him that the folks at TTR will embrace him.........not spurn him!
I say age is just a number. If you're there to party with the rest of us, no knows you and no one gives a shit!
I’d drink a beer with him. Not saying that we’d have a ton in common, but love to hear some of the stories I’m sure he has. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind the views telling those stories either. Plus, ya don’t live forever. Why have regrets? Everyone has to make the call as to when they feel “too old.”
Well if you’re sitting near us, you’re drinking with us. It’s actually a law here in Texas and we like to stay on the straight and narrow.
During at least 3, if not all 4, of our trips we've seen a couple who exemplify the "You're never too old" motto. They are well-known at TTR and I believe his name is Henry, I can't recall his lovely wife's name. He's 5'6"ish, buzz cut, huge smile, and usually has a go at the poolside Mr Temptation contest. When he busts out his dance moves the crowd goes wild and the buff/young guys just slump in their chairs knowing they don't stand a chance. We took the opportunity to greet them after breakfast one morning last trip, his handshake firm, her hug and a kiss gentle, both with beaming smiles. My takeaway memory from the enthusiastic conversation was this line. "Dude, we have way more money than time left and can think of no better place, or people, to spend both on."
