As a Dominican I think I can weigh in a little here. Dominican Republic is a beautiful country not without it's share of problems, like many countries in Latin, central and south America. The homicide RATE in the D.R. is slightly higher then Mexico but not by much. Here's how it breaks down: Dominican Republic homicide rate: 17.39 per 100,000 with a total of 1,810 in 2013. Mexico: 16.35 per 100,000 with a total of 20,672 in 2013. And in case anyone was wondering, Jamaica is 43.21 with total of 1,207 and Bahamas 29.81 with a total of 111. Both places I've visited and would visit again. The point is, don't do drugs kids and practice common sense while traveling abroad. I love Mexico and plan on coming here over and over again. Been to Mexico a dozen times never had a issue once!!! The tourist places are cool and the resorts are nice. Now if you go looking for trouble then Im sure you could find it. But hell everywhere you go is like that.
Except for the Boobs Cruise and maybe a day trip to Isla, we have absolutely no reason to leave Temptation.
