We went that exact same week and are returning that week again. Like Epic and Jewel say the weather was great and we had so much fun that we booked the return trip as soon as we could! The timing was perfect too. We attended all the local Halloween parties and you can still make it back for Thanksgiving! Not sure how rainy it is but that's part of our logic for waiting for that first week of November!
Lets just say it rained every day the first week of Oct17. And there was also the hurricane that wasn't!
I am so confused now. LOL! I think the best way would be to just look at the prices and events happening and whatever that suits the best are the dates I am going to book for
Weather during the Oct - Jan....window is like playing roulette. We do Halloween and Xmas/NYE every year. We have had rainy days for Halloween a few times. More often we have perfect weather for the season of the witch. BUT we have had near hurricanes at that time. Last year, it was actually oddly chilly. Xmas is usually very nice and moderate temped. But 5 months ago, it was unusally very hott for Christmas. By NYE...it always is kinda chilly as was the case this year. Like everywhere on the planet currently, weather is very fickle and no true normalcy is reliable. The best way to choose a week to visit TTR, is to find a group you feel you will enjoy hanging with. Make contact with them prior to your trip and embrace the group's planned activities/themes. Then if the weather is poor, you will still be having fun. There are some very good groups to choose from during this time frame. Octoberbreast, Wedgies, HnH, November Naughtys, Sinoholics, and Chaos Crew are some options.
@marshe gives the best advice on this topic. And we all know the World’s weather patterns have certainly been out of whack from what most of us have experienced throughout our lives. Who knows if just a short blip of change or permanent unpredictable patterns from now on...a statement, not a question! The weather will be there either way so find your group, bond, and let your new TTR life begin! If you dont have one, pick one that fits your travel schedule/budget and do as @marshe suggests...dig in, meet folks online ahead of time, make plans, participate, and make the best of it. If you are like most here you will miss it the moment you leave and be planning/booking your next visit immediately. If you visit is not to your lking due to the group, do not give up and try another. You willmost likely prevail and settle in.
