Yes, most places. We Usually bring some to pay for excursions/fishing. Be careful though... for example .. if you’re buying something for 100 pesos and pay with $100 bill ya might get ripped in the exchange. You also may or may not get US dollars back in change, sometimes you will, but usually not. I wouldn’t flash a roll of 100’s for sure.
Paying for trips and excursions with big companies, 100's are fine. Otherwise stick with 50's and smaller. $100 are the most counterfeited bills and smaller establishments tend to stay away or not accept them. Too big of a hit on their bottom line is one is fake. While people will take them in a heartbeat as a tip, they are harder for individuals to pass along because of what is stated above. 2 50's would be loved as much and easier for them to pass on. Also remember... because of the moving exchange rate (usually up at this point), US$ is more valuable as a tip because it could increase in value... but only as long as it is in US$ Give a $50 and they get one chance at exchange... give 2 20's and a $10 and they have more... and so on.... so the bigger bill is more flashy but multiples of the smaller kind are more valuable.
