Wanting to take tour to Chichen Itza while in Cancun. Any suggestion on tour guide.
Most will pickup between 7-8am and bring ya back. Some have short tours bring ya back at 5ish - which I prefer - while others do 7ish which include lunch or swim in a cenote
    Open to suggestions

First of Feb, we took the tour with Amigo Tours, booked from TTR excursion desk and Marco was the guide...this guy is an encyclopedia of info and really fun to talk to. He is passionate about his stuff and very knowledgeable. It is a full day, we got back it was starting to get dark (don't remember time... we slept in bus!!) That was with lunch at a Mayan villa and cinote swim. They try to avoid the busiest time of the day so you can enjoy a more relax visit at the different sites.
Only down side... no booze! But it gave of a good 2 hours sleep to recup on ride and a break for liver! Got back in time to get ready for supper and start drinkin our way back to party.
All and all...a beautiful site seeing and learning day. We loved and recommend it.
Ps. can somebody present these words to Marco with a big thank you from us...

generally the party at bash doesn't start till I think 9 or 10 that's when they start the show ..
so that will give you time to hit the shower and get dressed and they have some food at bash if you don't make it to dinner ..
so you shouldn't miss to much maybe pick a day that they are doing a Boobs Cruise those days seem to be a bit slower during the day than others
if you want to buy stuff I would suggest doing it at Chichen Itz the store they take you to is very overpriced
but it makes a good day and you will have lots of pictures to show people :)

I did Chichen Itza my first trip and I'm ever so glad I did. I'll be honest and tell you it was hard to motivate on the day of but the cenotes alone were a good enough reason to drag ny ass onto a bus and the ruins themselves made it a don't miss trip. They were amazing to see and as mentioned above the history of the Mayans is fascinating. I hated the bus ride but loved Chichen Itza, oldest site I've ever seen. Make sure you wear comfy cool clothes and bring a hat. I went in May and it was blistering hot. You should do it early in your trip because the more friends you make the less you'll want to tear yourself away from the fun at TTR

Silly - thanks - doing Boobs Cruise on Monday - thought about going when the next Boobs Cruise is , however that would be Friday and we leave on Saturday, so I may do the longer trip that include the cenotes and just get back at 7ish - Hate to think about missing out on the fun - May go on Wednesday just to break the week up a bit - open to suggestions

We got a group of 6 together at the resort and Booked it through USA Transfers. Filled a cooler with drinks and off we went by van. Way better than doing it with a tour bus and more fun! Make sure you get a guide if you’re interested in the history. Was well worth the extra money. Also, do the cenote and lunch on the way back. ($12.00? more) We arrived before the tour buses and were back earlier too. Was a long day but well worth the trip.
6 more sleeps and we are back again!

The good side of the bus is they told us to relax and sleep for the rides to and fro. It was quiet and we did recup on this trip and were able to party harder after it!

We used the tour company at the resort prior to the renovation (not sure if the current company is the same). Problem is that when they pick you up, you go to a central tour terminal where everyone has to switch busses to go the tour they have booked. As I remember this took an hour or more. On the way back, they make stops all along the hotel zone - and Temptation was last. I think we left at 8 or 9 and didn't get back until 9 at night.

Friends of ours booked a private car with guide and while it was double or triple the price (for two), their trip was much shorter. I really regreted not doing that. Get another couple to go with you and it should cut down the cost per person.
