My house is divided...wife on FB and me on CCC (mainly because I don't use FB!). She definitely tells/shows me things that I do not see on CCC and she is not even in any "secret" groups! So I see it both ways. Cha-ching...4 cents deposited.
I can appreciate both, they are both so different and serve a purpose in their own way. Facebook is easy sharing and seeing pictures as well as private chatting. Here is is easy to ask a question and get an actual answer. I like the longer more detailed posts here, while I agree with Scubasteve, Facebook you get quick quips and fast responses. I really hope it does not go all to Facebook and I will do my part to make that not happen.
Secret/private FB groups do give more security and privacy, and also allow more freedom in a certain type of thing than CCC due tot he advertising protocol. It's a thing. For my info, I always come here.
I'm on both, FB for the times of year we like to go and the people we've met. But I agree that our last trip this was a much more active forum. I think people are running out of new topics lol, but some of the same ol ones are still fun to explore!
With thanks to OP @Tyler and Angie Time to shake the dust off this thread Has the recent Facebook data scandal changed things? Anyone altered their online social media habits, due to Facebooks' 'Week from Hell'? What is your 'Go To' online first stop for TTR news and camaraderie? Personally we have never been fans of FB, and for us CCC is the Only site to use for Temptation related subjects. It is the next best thing to actually being at TTR.!
Facebook, Cancuncare , twitter , whatever ,, if you think your data is safe/private , ect,,, no matter what you r settings your living in a dream world . BUT ,, CC is the best platform for site specific forum experience. If FB ever came up with Multiple stickies , they would give forums a run for their money .
I am not tech savvy so this may be naive, but Is it possible for CCC to have private group forums to be more FB-like? It seems CCC is used to poach users to join FB groups, which to me is ungrateful to CCC. Why not develop group chat rooms/forums on CCC? It would be safer, perhaps more fun and fulfilling. Maybe a Win-Win thing. But I don't have the knowledge to know the pitfalls or viability of creating that platform
