I got to Express check-in today! Hopefully my 5 sentences of requests is not a deterrent to the TTR staff fulfilling at least ONE of them... lol So excited to see the new resort!!
For us westjet and air canada didn't have any. It's seems leggit even printed off it's the same as what they used to give us !
One of the things I've learned in life is you rarely get what you want without asking for it. (Plus, I'm inspired by @Jen&Kyle 's stories of crazy cool upgrades for crazy low prices!)
I find the key is being very direct with what you are inquiring about / asking for. And this type of stuff has a much higher success rate at Desire than TTR. TTR being a bigger operation there tends to be less personal touches, in my experience. This makes me think back to the times we organized parties in the old cigar lounge and wow they made it difficult. Where at Desire I could have a dj, open bar, buffet, strobe light and fog machine for $10 a head
You never have to do express check-in. An age old debate as to what good it does. Sometimes it feels like they don't have the notes and sometimes it is clear they do. What I was suggesting to Amy, who has a garden view, is say what you are asking for... i.e. can we have a 2nd floor or third floor room overlooking the quiet pool? Please no room looking at the parking lot. Although we know that those rooms are actually ocean view they may assign them to her (if they look at the note). And hopefully at a minimum they realize ok we can't throw this couple in the room over looking the parking lot and hope they don't react to it. Better to just give them something nice from the start. In my express check-in I plan to ask for the bar to be stocked in the Master. Do I expect it to be? No. But it may result in options being presented such as discounts on bottles in case we need them. Also will ask for 3rd or 4th floor room as I know the 2nd floor balconies are smaller than those and have less of a view. I bet we end up on the second floor with no alcohol but always worth the shot.
