There was 3 years ago ,, one morning while getting our chairs at 6 am ,, in January,, there was steam/mist coming off the pool . The water was about 90f,,,, this really sucked ,, cause it was our last day , and we spent the whole week out of the pool . I don't know about the present situation,, but heat exchanges with the buffet is pretty easy to do on the AC coils .
Un huh....That was old pool. Yes it was heat exhanger back then. Now I think it is heat exchanger still....but only of low rise buildings. Tower Ac is on roof.....not part of the exchanger. So bigger pool and smaller exchanger coils But a true heater per se....don't think it exists But then what do I know....been there 4 times since opening....No nothing
If they got rid of thst swoosh of concrete over the pool at sea flirt end of pool....the sun would help that end of pool. I know it looks cool and all...but it makes that end dark and uninviting and frankly a desrrted end of the pool. Being long time vets of 'Rock Star Row' and almost always having a chairs at that end and having stood around the planter at that end for dozens of hours, I can say that it was always warm at that spot all afternoon until the sun begins to set over the lagoon. But know that end gets no sun at all and no one wants to be there. Before that area was jammed with chairs and people and a great party atmosphere. We were always at that end of the pool. Now nevr go there unless I want a premium drink while in the pool. That end of swim-up bar is premier end on both sides (beach and pool side)
If memory (very limited and spotty) serves me correctly, in Oct, the week before the Grand Opening, the pool temp fluctuated up and down during the day and week. Of course the weather sucked with lots of cloudy conditions, lots and lots of rain, and the hurricane that wasn't. We thought the fluctuating pool temp might have been due to the weather and also was just the opening jitters along with all the other issues back then. But I agree with Marshes in that this might be the new norm in that the pool is just too big for the heat exchange system. This being said, if so and folks claim they will stop visiting in cold months I am sure TTR management will address the situation somehow. It cannot be solved by hoping Mother Nature will cooperate by warm days and not so cold nights to keep the pool just right. But it is MX and although hopefully a 5 star goal it might be the way. Hell, the weather, especially in our cold months (lol you Northerners, especially our Canadian friends...we are in San Antonio!), is one of the reasons we vacation in Cancun. I am interested in the opposite too...what happens in the hot months...will the entire pool be a 104F hot tub and NOT be refreshing?
Opening week, it was stifling and the pool was refreshing, but then again the resort had no working A/C
last week they had no premium anything at either end of the pool ..they wouldn't even place a bottle under the bar for hubs and I ..so we either had to somehow flag down a waitress or get out of the pool and run over to get the drink we wanted .. we asked ..as a joke one of the guys stood up and put a paper over the sign that said premier .. so guess at least for our 10 days that was something they didn't do ..and yes that end of the pool was always deserted .. ..out of all the changes our only complaint is that the pool is to big ..well and cold lol
