This will be my first time to the resort, I plan on taking pictures of my excursions to chichen itza and other places but should I avoid any pictures of the resort while I'm there? I mean I don't plan on taking pics at the sexy pool but what about at other places inside resort?

We have taken pics on the beach before and around the sexy pool at night when it was emptied.

the best way is in your head as memories....but take all the pictures of the resort you want but not at the main pool or disco..and just always make sure no one else is in the pic.

28 trips and counting (29th in 7 weeks) and have never felt a need to document anything.
The mind's eye is superior to any recording device.
Have never, ever, used a camera at Mecca and have only posed for aprox 15 or 20 pics for close friends.

Yes! I suggest a POV angle on the balcony. You can't see shit of the resort, but it's one of our favorite captured memories at TTR

Yes be very careful nobody is in the background. We were taking turns taking pics in our group at Theme nights and security got on to us a few times to put the cameras away even though it was just us and our group of people. They don't want cameras out at all. We took most of our pics in the lobby after that. Kind of a pain in the butt trying to round up a group of 7-8 people to go to the lobby to take a pic but hey whatever it takes. We got some good ones before we got put in timeout.. :)
