Boy you get the most out of your vehicles!
They owe you nothing at the end.
Loved my 96 Ranger and looking forward to the new one coming next year.

Before my Ranger I had an S10...and although I liked it....it did not stand up to winters salt/sand conditions and rusted out quickly after 3 years I traded for the Ranger.

I know it is not Polically correct to say.....but having a couple if uncles who served in WW2 in the Pacific (and possibly being imbibed with their biases) ....and having suffered thru the attempt at forcing "the Japanese Way" into my workplace in the mid'80's.....it is a big step for me to pull the trigger on a Toyota.

I use to be a Chevy guy, my parents had Ford's and Chevy's when I was a kid, First job as a tech was for a Chevy dealer and my first Car was a 69 Impala followed by a 75 GMC Jimmy 4x4, had the Jimmy for almost 30 years, both died from rust. I started working for a local Ford dealer in 1986 and saw how much better the Fords held up. Now I sell really crazy expensive parts to Audi owners, they are a really nice high maintenance vehicle that I could get the deal of a century on but have no Desire to own.

Those early Jimmys were monsters but A buddy had a 78 Ford Bronco which I was partial to and another mutual acquaintance we knew had a 79 Jimmy.
The jibes and banter was never ending.
Until a dare happened one day and the Jimmy got stuck.
But really it was the guy driving and his limited off-roading skills in those days-! who was always shooting his mouth off about "The Bow Tie/ superiority and still does even today about his Elevation trimmed Silverado.

    The Bronco easily beat him.

Word is Ford is bringing back the Legendary Bronco for 2020

We use to have my truck is better than your truck be arguments, I allways said get the chain, end to end dry pavement or dirt nothing out pulled my old 4 speed manual trans Jimmy, foot to the floor 1 gear low range it did I think 3 mph. Now in the mud my buddy's 76 F 150 with the coil spring front end flexed so much it never got stuck and was the truck that had to pull everyone out.

Anybody know of any real life F150 aluminum box issues, to support Chevys shit-talking ads poking holes in the aluminum body?
Other than the ads, I personally know of nobody driving FORD who complains of this.

I have not seen or heard of any issues with the aluminum F150 bed except from body shop guys, Its not as easy to repair as the old steel beds. Now the new GM pickups coming out with the carbon fiber beds the jury is out on how they will do, maybe Ford will do a tool box test on them, LOL.

    That is a funny story.
    Got me to thinking.
First thing I learned to drive was an old 9N pulling the wagn during haying season on my uncles farm. At 11yrs old
He had a Massey Ferguson and a newer Deere, but always used the 9N for baleing

When I talk about things like this at work I get the deer in the headlights stare from most of the guys I work with. I have credit cards I still use issued with the same company longer then most of the guys I work with have been alive.

Do you have a need for a 1/2 ton truck? Only reason for asking is I just bought a 2016 Colorado 4x4 Z71 with the 2.8l diesel and absolulty love the truck. It has an impressive tow rating although I have not towed anything with it yet. the truck avarges 30 mpg on the highway going 70-75 MPH and is super smooth and comfortable.
