Last nights SNL had a humourous montage piece whereby Kyle Mooney did a 'man-in-the-street' dresssed like a slacker/skateboarder asking passersby: "ROCK OR RAP?" Thought it might be intersting to ask on the Temptation forum
Both, just not country (not a criticism, just a preference... before you country people start flaming me)
I can defi itely respect that. We like ourselves some Marshal Mathers Marilyn likes the rockers that lean towards rap on the genre scale (I.e. the Peppers..kid Rock..Linkin Park, Korn, Beasties, Living Color...etc)
Pretty much into any type of music as long as it's not the same songs over and over all night long, now the old 60/70 rock that I killed many brain cells listening too that we played that over and over on our 8 track player's, I can't complain about that. T
Question: Rock, or Rap? Problem: Too large genres, both, to answer. I mean, it's not like I want to hang out for the party with 50's rock and roll all day, nor do I want to hear death metal. Some classic rock favorites, hard rock stuff that everyone knows and seems to love, absolutely! Same type of thing for rap. Rap has hits that crosses listener boundaries for lots of people just like... say... Lynrd Skynrd, Metallica, AC/DC etc, for example. I Like Big Butts is a good example. Make fun of it all you want, but Ice Ice Baby still can fill the dance floor, as does Wobble. Whent he dance floor at TTR's Bash is poppin' it is a good time, and I really don't care what the DJ does witht he music as long as that is maintained.
No reason for any flaming Its all good Everybody has their detest level. For us it is electronic overload. For others it is JAZZ Some hate old school 'Dad' rock I was raised on Bluegrass with Outlaw country and heavy doses of 'The Man In Black' to mix it up. But when Zep released Zeppelin II, it changed my life. Early days of Metal and old school Delta Blues are my personal favs. Marilyn is waay more of a metal head, but enjoys prog rock as well.
