In the market to upgrade my pickup.
Spent the whole day today at dealerships test driving demos
Narrowed down to Tundra 1794 or F150 platinum.

    Any friendly advice?

Both are great. Depends on engine you want and purpose. The styling on the toy is awesome and have friends who love them. the engine tech that ford is using is top notch and is based on European tech that produces incredible hp from small engines. I use a 2017 f150 with the 2.7 liter for work. It is very nimble and very fast (requirement). But I bought a 2017 5.0 fx4 for myself for pulling my boat and camper and going into the mountains/off road. The 3.5 is crazy powerful but the 5.0actually gets better mileage in sustained speeds over 75 mph. I have averaged 17.7 mpg with the 5.0 in City and country driving...a over 8k miles so far.

What I really wanted was a Nissan but I just couldn’t fall in love with the styling.

    Thanks for sharing
    Man I hear ya.!
I started off wanting a TiTan, perhaps due to all the advertising during NFL season (official truck of the NFL-yada yada, blah blah blah)....but it felt like I was too young for it.
Kinda felt like a "Florida retirement home" vehicle.

I am leaning to the Ford 5.0L
Raised in a Chevy family but went rogue early in life and Always driven Ford when it comes to 1/2ton. 18 years driving King Ranch (had 3 of them) and before that a Ranger.

Yesterday begun to think, maybe Tundra is the way to go.
Like the ride in the Tundra, it is user friendly...and sold on the reliability.
    But unsure about longevity.

I drove my last f150 from 1999 until 2017. No probs ... ran like New when I sold it. 140k. Lot of off road miles also. Hope my new one gives me 18 years also.

18 years and only one 140k?
You merely broke it in, not surprised it was like new!why sell it?
I generally clock 300kms before getting the itch to upgrade.

Offroading ever cause any front-end issues with a Ford?

Both are great trucks, As a Ex Ford Senior Master tech speaking. The Ford has more configurations, engine, cab, bed, payload and in the upper trim levels both are beautiful. If your looking for Heavy Duty you can't beat the Ford Super Duty. I would not recomend the Nissan, there like a Dodge and just fall a part over time. I work for a multi franchise dealer, Ford, Porsche, Audi, BMW, Lexus, Toyota, Honda, Nissan and the techs at Nissan don't own Nissan trucks. My next door neighbor has a 2013 Toyota Tundra crew max and I am very impressed with it rides nice plenty of power especially when towing brakes are great. A few of the guys I work with have the Tundras too and all have been issue free. You can't go wrong with the Ford or Toyota.

    And thamks for your input.
Although you may have started something if any of the Dodge Boys read this.
But I have never been one.
Although I am Surronded by Rams in the company parking lot
I quickly dismissed Nissan from the list.
It was more lust than love.
Test Driving it I had the overwhelming sense it should've Buick badging.
If GM was ever to market a Buick 1/2 ton....I am sure the Nissan would be the prototype...targeted at the backyard gardener.

Based on the deal/pricing am leaning towards the Platnum F150.
Got until Wednesday to close the deal.

Seeing I work in the city my daily driver is a 1994 Ford Ranger super cab 4x4 4.0L 5 speed manual with over 220 + miles, it will not die and would drive it anywhere and have. The other vehicles are a 1996 Ford Explorer sport AWD that I transplanted a 5.0 engine in it That's my sleeper hot rod. The travel and towing vehicle is a 2000 Ford Excursion Limited with the 7.3 diesel, it's just a pup with 100k miles on it. The Mrs a drives a 2014 Focus Titianum 5 door. As you can see I know and like Ford's but would not hesitate to buy a Toyota.
