CTVNews came out with an article saying Canadian gvnt issue a travel advisorie it was just use high degree of caution in PDC. They suggest to us gvnt employe to not travel to PDC BUT, the boat that exploded was related to the cartel and apparently it was own by the ex mayor or something like that ( Drug related ). Not sure @Steve could explain what happen exactly. Just use your head, don't go where you are not suppose to and make sure to sure the green and white taxi car. Bring the minimum amount of money with you and don't show off any valuable item ( such as diamond, watch, wallet, passport etc. ) If Cancun/RM/ PDC loose all of their tourism those town will be ghost and everything will close off. This could happen anywhere.. I think the media are just nuts and they just want to scare people off. Before I went to mexico the 1st time.. All around me they were saying .. Be careful it,s very dangerous.. TBH I feel safer there than I do walking downtown Ottawa.
Blowing up a tourist ferry and an attempt on a second ferry is concerning. Usually the cartel stays away from their clients, tourists.
We don't know the exact detail, On facebook people said the owner was the ex mayor and he had issue with the cartel ( and was owing money ) I don't even know this company ferry we always use Ultramar in the past. All link seems to have been deleted from the web and I can only find few article and from little spanish I speak, they said it's still under investigation. Some newspaper claim it was a mechanical failure. That being said; 26 injuries, how much killed the last shooting was in the US ? 17 ?
