First trip to TTR and really looking forward to theme nights. Outfits have been arriving and the wife is pretty surprised to find out how revealing the outfits I picked out for her are. She let me pick the resort this year and didn't learn her lesson from that, so... Here are some observations about buying theme outfits: Plan early. Some sites can take up to 21 business days to get your stuff to you - if at all I found a lot of items on a couple of lingerie sites and then ordered them off Amazon. Usually the items aren't much cheaper, but Amazon guarantees when you'll get it Besides ordering from Amazon, I also ordered from Wicked Temptations, Yoins, Brigitwear and GirlieLingerie.com. It's going to cost way more in time and money than you are thinking My experience is this: Wicked Temptations Pros: Giant and awesome catalog, plus the prices are fair. By far, the best search capabilities. Better than even amazon! Cons: Placed two orders with multiple items and each order was held up because some items were out of stock. Verdict: Was able to speak to a person easily and work through the order issues. Both times it was the same person (Trish). Means I'll do business with them again. Yoins Pros: Giant and awesome catalog and the prices are decent. Cons: Placed order on February 1st and probably won't get items until mid March (after our trip) Verdict: Not able to speak to a human in the US. Email I sent was not read, but I did get a canned email response explaining shipping policy. Means I'll never do business with them again. Brigitewear Pros: They have the largest selection of the sexiest, most sheer swimsuits you can find. Cons: Maybe a little bit pricy, but they are unique in what they offer. Verdict: Placed order and item was shipped that day out of California. Means I'll be be happy to use them again. GirlieLingerie.com Pros: Unique offering of dresses, lingerie and Rave outfits Cons: Smallish selection and a little bit pricier than Wicked Temptations or Yoins Verdict: Was having a lot of trouble finding a certain item for Neon night, but they had it. Placed order and the item shipped that day. Means I'll be be happy to use them again. Note: It's worth mentioning Yandy. I didn't buy anything from them, but no real reason why. Great selection and decent prices. I think I just liked Wicked Tempations product filtering capabilities more. That has been my experience and would love to hear about other people's thoughts!
Thanks for the tips!! I used Yandy for the first time a few weeks ago, and the shipping was lightning-fast. I didn't think it was possible for them to process an order that quickly. Very impressed. Some live-and-learn shopping tips for TTR: Before I purchase, I do a search on eBay for the identical item, and very often I find it for a lower price. Almost always the price is lower than Amazon. I picked up a brand new Wicked Weasel swimsuit for $30 US last week from a Cdn seller on eBay. Be aware that anything on eBay from a seller in China can take 3 or more months for your items to arrive, so make sure you have that much time before your trip. However, given that almost everything sold in North America these days is made in China anyway, you can get some unbelievably low prices on the same item you pay 10x more for here. I bought some 99-cent jewellery (with free shipping) to wear in the pool, and it arrived this week and it's perfect...looks good, but I won't care if it gets broken or lost. Hopefully it doesn't give me a rash ha ha. Also something to keep in mind when buying clothes from China: the sizes almost always run smaller than North American sizes, so read the sizing info in the auction carefully, and if in doubt, order a size up. My husband is 6'2" and 220 lbs and some sellers don't even carry a size big enough for him. If you are a taller woman, much of the cheap slut-wear made in China is going to be too short for you, as it is cut for the shorter Asian woman, or they are saving on fabric costs. So if the dress barely covers the tush of the model, it will be a crop top on you if you are 5'8" or taller, like me. Lastly, almost all the slut-wear white dresses made of stretchy synthetics are super thin and see-through, even if they appear opaque in the stock photo.
I should have said that basically ALL the stretchy synthetic slut-wear dresses are see-through except the black ones, but it is most noticeable in white, as you might expect. Before someone posts to say they don't see what the problem is , I posted this tip for the newbies, who might not be prepared to wear a see-thru dress on their first trip.
We have used Yandy many times and have always been impressed with the quick shipping. Prices are cheap, but quality of a lot of the items is low. I figure at those prices, I'm happy if it lasts one night. Used Wicked Temptations before our past trip, and ran into the same issues with orders not being shipped because one item was out of stock. Called them, and they sent the order minus the one item. Still haven't received the rest of that order. We have bought a lot of stuff off eBay that ships from China. It can take a number of weeks to receive, but prices are very cheap. One thing to remember about buying from China, most shipping companies are on shut down for the majority of February to observe the Chinese new year.
Oh good grief! I hope most of the stuff I bought made it onto the boat before the shut down! The last orders I placed for my April trip were the first week of February. Most of the stuff was ordered in January. Fingers crossed.
Totally agree on the Yandy and Wicked Temptation thoughts. Before I was cut off by the mrs because I was ordering too much I learned Wicked Temptations is not always reliable and yandy is awesome from a value perspective. If she doesn’t like it then I wouldn’t even bother returning it since the price was so reasonable. Saved for a rainy day
Wicked Temptations works as a middle man. Their website is not updated with items in stock. Most of the time when you order from them, they then purchase those items from a whole seller (like aliexpress) and causes shipping to be delayed since they first have to receive the item overseas, then send it to you. And they wait until they receive all the items before shipping to you. I had to cancel some items because of this. We live 30 miles from their warehouse and it still took 2-3 weeks to arrive. Yandy: lightning fast shipping. Amazon: a lot of sellers from China so shipping varies from 2-4 weeks sometimes.
Starting to wish I had gone with Yandy... However, I will give WC kudos for taking my call and working with me though...
