We plan on hosting parties in our room, and like to setup lighting, etc. QUESTION, do the rooms have standard smoke detectors in them or just sprinklers for fire? Fog machines will set off smoke alarms but not sprinklers, and make for a great atmosphere with laser lights and black light....
Just tried looking at our pictures from when we went in Oct. and I can’t really tell what is on the ceiling (See attached) someone who is there now can tell you. Have a great time! Mel
It's so nice having a handyman around the forum to help us with these difficult questions, Donald. My husband would probably try to shout into the heat detector to order room service.
Lol, not many have mentioned the game that we are sure a lot have played in the remodeled rooms, "lets guess how to open this door" game... Push here.... nope that opens that door, push here... nope, shit thats the wrong door anyway, where the hell is the safe door? Shit it wont open anyway, reach for the bottom of the door and give it a yank..
Lol. So true. Can't count the number of times in a drunken stupor that I found the coffee pot when I was looking for the safe
You’re all wrong - it’s a camera disguised as a life safety device. How do you think the resort pays for all the fireball shots? Live streaming memberships, ofcourse In all seriousness I hope it’s smoke and not a heat detector. Read too many posts about people wanting to bring candles and I’d be out of work it wasn’t for candles. You may want to get confirmation before firing up the fog machine as I can’t confirm fire codes for Mexico but smoke detectors would be the logical choice.
Doesn’t look like a heat detector I’ve ever seen but sure looks like a smoke alarm/detector. Might be a combo unit but doubted. Smoke alarms/detectors are a local life safety device for room occupants while heat detectors are not. The mesh side looks like bug screen while still allowing smoke to get the sensor. FYI - Heat detectors activate the building fire alarm like pull stations do while the sleeping room smoke alarms detectors typically only activate locally. However hallway and stairwell smoke detectors are part of the building fire alarm like the pull station & heat detectors. Typical heat detector has a rate of rise sensor and also activated at 165 degrees or after a 30 degree rise with 30 seconds. Careful about having too many hotties over - haha ! You can ask maintenance for a smoke alarm/detector dust cover. They should use them for sanding, painting or dust producing activities around the smoke detectors. Have a sexy & safe holiday
