I do that every time! They give me the key to 2 or 3 rooms. I check them all out and then tell them which one I want. Will see how that goes over now that they have renovated (and I don't easily know where all the rooms are to go check lol) Only trying to avoid parking lot, and garbage dumping area ;-)
You mileage may vary, but we went on a referral the week of Labor Day and stayed in by far the worst location we've had (overlooking the street out front). We tried to play the room game, and they were WAY grumpier about it than they'd been on past visits. (That could very well be because an obscenely drunk lady ahead of us had just finished screaming gibberish at them because she was having AC problems or something.) They made it very clear they had zero interest in playing the room game so we just dropped it and went to the pool.
On one trip we had a shitty room. It looked out to a rooftop AC unit and a wall. Did it change anything? Fuck no! When we went to bed we closed the curtain to keep it dark enough for us to sleep in. When we woke up, breakfast and pool. Came back, got changed, out for dinner and a party. I think the only time we looked outside was to see what the view looked like when we got there. In retrospect, I guess the only downside to it was we never got to see any of the shenanigans going on as people walked by or being a peeping Tom into what people on the other balconys were doing.
Oh. Well, that doesn't give me a lot of hope! Agreed. I am not very picky about a room, though I don't want to be somewhere super noisy. The only time I played the room game was when they put me in a room right outside the door to the Paty-O's kitchen, and for the 10 minutes I was in the room, the din from bins of dishes going in and out was deafening. Plus the sliding door to the patio was broken. Once I moved to the replacement room and went to the pool, I found out that a few people had already refused that room that day before I did!
Three trips in a row, the desk clerks first assigned us to the same crappy room. It was in the quiet section, on the bottom floor, but practically underground, so it was tiny and dark. There was also no door on the bathroom, which completely would kill the sexy mood for me. It got to the point that I knew the room number, so the third time when they tried to send us there, I just rolled my eyes and told the desk clerk that I wasn't up for playing the game and just give me a better one, and she laughed and did! I am really hoping that we don't have to go through all of the BS anymore.
They did this to me too ,, might be the computer giving the same room ,, ,, twice we had to move because of the same ceiling leak ,lol
No one has answered the question, anyone go after booking the mystery sale, and if so, what type of room did you get. Thank you in advance for your comments. Booked for April 25- may 5
Mel here - Please share what room that was so we can all avoid it, LOL! I get to TTR 3 days before the hubby and my biggest fear is that they will stick me in some shitty room way out on the edge of the resort. Any suggestions on what rooms I should ask for would be greatly appreciated since we also took advantage of the Mystery Sale.
