Here’s how it went for us on our maiden trip to TTR. The shock wasn’t so bad because we had been reading stuff on here for about 2 months prior to our trip and we had time to prepare for what was coming. We’re glad we did cause we planned costumes for all the theme nights as was suggested and we did have a blast. When we booked, we had requested a room away from the party area so we could rest whenever we wanted and this is what we got. A garden view room and it was perfect. We could hear the music at night but nothing to keep us from sleeping. We do suggest ear plugs for the lite sleepers though. The birds in the morning are a lot louder than the music could have been but we couldn’t ask for more. The garden is beautiful by the way and a nice place to sit and have a drink and relax. This is where we wish there was a little add-on. We are the kind who enjoy the feel of a velvety quiet, wine (sometimes scotch & cognac) and jazz erotic after dinner evening. So a smooth piano bar style place where one could enjoy a nice conversation in a cozy environment would be a definite turn on for us. The kind where anything just feels right, might have turned us to the dark side if the right people would have been there to initiate! The garden is ok but still outside and in the open…kind of missing the cozy! As we previously asked in another thread, wine choice is something we fancy. If a decently priced wine list was offered, we would have surely bought a few bottles($30-60), but at over $100 a pop for a $20 bottle, this is more then we’re willing to pay for. The cab that was included was way off to our taste and we kind of settled to the merlot after a few glasses but nothing to write about. We almost orgasmed when we uncorked a Liano when we got back home! I’m sure that if a nice cellar selection was put up at a decent price, people would definitely put in a few extra dollars out as accompaniment to an already wonderful meal, cause all our meals were exquisitely perfect. In the positive, it was our first time in Mexico, so we made it a point to try out everything we could and we have to say: it was well worth it! We did go for an excursion to Chichén Itza and the Cenote swim along with lunch at a Mayan village through Amigo Tours(booked at the hotel desk), and our guide Marco was a master of knowledge! It’s a long day but culture wise, worth every minute of it. Hotel restaurants : She and show = WOW! Sea Flirt for dinner and breakfast (x2)… we were drooling over every dish! Sutra for 2 dinners… won ton, sushi’s and just about everything (we saw the show from the side but very impressive!), all were more than perfect! Flame for dinner = food was excellent. Only downside was lighting… looked like supper at McDonald’s. Way too bright. Just dim those lights way down and add a nice jazzy setting and we have a nice cozy meeting and greeting area where things might heat up. We had breakfast at the buffet twice and it was everything we could ask for. Romanza for dinner = beyond expectations for people who never go out to Italian restaurants because we find it to be always better at home… it was simply excellent! You have to try the Flambé coffee show… both eye and mouth pleasing! Tried Amores for lunch and it just made us want to try it more on our next trip. Caffeine in the morning for lattes is the place to go! We can’t find a negative for what we hate and drank. Presentation, taste, diversity and definitely staff were all in the top tens. All worth the try and we especially thank all the wait staff for the extra effort to make our stay better and even try to speak French! This is the gold lining in our eyes for being French Canadians! The Boobs Cruise… It’s a must!!! It sure will bring you out of your comfort zone, but how liberating and exciting! Sure you will see and experience things you’ve probably never even thought of before but we’ve made it this far, so why not go all the way?! I mean come on… everybody has watched porn in his or her life and to a different extent maybe, but if you’ve booked to TTR and contemplated the cruise, you surely have that voyeuristic/exhibitionistic vibe inside of you and secretly want to experience it! So let it all out and have fun! That’s what it’s all about! We met some very nice and beautiful people on there and had a blast just partying and experiencing the pristine waters and great atmosphere generated by the crew. For sure there are some extreme scenes, but if this doesn’t suit you, there’s plenty of other things to turn over and look at! So there’s everything for everybody. That’s what’s nice about the cruise. Everybody gets his fill, and not only in alcohol. There is lifestyle all over the place and you won’t even see it unless you have that little tinge to try it. Of course you’ll get propositioned by the LS people, but as everybody said, if you don’t, there’s probably something wrong with you. A polite “no, we’re not into this” is all it takes. But it surely gets hard to say after a while of seeing all the good stuff going on all over the place! It is really addictive. This is where keeping an open mind gets all it’s meaning. If you’re up on the fence, you might fall over and find another parallel life you didn’t suspect existed. The pools and beach : The beach isn’t the best but they’re working on it. They got it better every day while we were there. Plenty of room for quiet tanning and lounging. Sexy pool is just that…sexy, party, fun and friends. It’s THE Place. Quiet pool: very quiet. We saw nobody in there all week. It was a little cool but refreshing. We can see why people would find it too cold. Hot tub near Bash : nice and naughty! Fun place to be at the end of afternoon to wind down and meet other friends. Funny things can be witnessed or experienced in there…just saying! Roof Top : Wow! Nice view, nice pool and hot tub (very hot), nice deco, excellent tapas style menu, lounge music really changes from whatever is playing at sexy pool, very relaxing. Just don’t know why this place is not open at night. It would be the “nec plus ultra” and the perfect haven if it was. The Play Book leaflet says the Roof Top Bar to be open from 12 pm to 12 am, so I guess it is a plan for near future! Fingers crossed!! Didn’t want this to turn this long and repeat some of the things said in other reports, but wanted to voice how good we found this place. We can’t say enough about the staff…maid, wait, bars, desk…everybody was going out of their way to make our stay as good as it could be. The guests, well what can we say. First timers or veterans, everybody just bond together just like old friends, just like a high school reunion…and it’s just like we’re kids again! We’ll definitely be multi-times repeaters… Don’t know how we’ll be able to wait a year to go back!
Thanks for taking the time to post a review, Lindilou! Always good to hear back from newbies that they had a great time.
Did we ever! We left a lot out like the sexy stuff and private balcony or garden shows(or should this read public...I'm confused!) cause it was long enough. But we'll say thanks to the performers!!
Great write up! I love hearing about first time visits and people loving TTR and all it has to offer. On a separate note I recently read on the FB page that you can actually bring a bottle of wine with you to dinner. That may solve the situation you mentioned above. Mel
