A small safe, maybe 15"x15"x6", dont recall exact dims in each room. Looks and unlocks with a code of your choosing. No need to lock up your toys as most have them. Proudly leave them out on display for your housekeeper to marvel at and admire
If you are really worried about your valuables, keep them at the reception desk, they will have a safe there and anything you store with them will be insured against loss. Not a great idea to use the safe in your room
We always use the safe in the room for passport, wallet, cellphone and Ipad. However our laptop doesn't fit ( and it's required ) so we lock it in our of our suitcases or hide it in our clothes and changing it place each day. The only thing I got stole at any resort was a cover up and it was at a resort in Cuba. Everything I lost got back to me the next day at TTR. Who wants a pair of used flipflop anyways ? I even let out some money in my room by mistake and the maid at TTR never even touch it. Mexico isn't a 3rd part world country, and they don't need to steal to survive. However I don't bring any of my jewelry except my rings cause I have hard time to get it out so if someone want it they need to cut my fingers since in mexico it's hot and sunny my fingers are swell all the time ! 63 mores day before the paradise !
Have never had an issue with the safe nor anything else left out including cash, cell phones, etc. to date nor have any of our several friends whom each have visited 10+ times. So that adds up to several thousand days of times for theft. If course there is always a first time for everything
Hunh, hadn't even dawned on me that some people would think the staff is going to be stealing from them. Imagine it does happen but my thinking was definitely not about theft from staff, furthest thing truth be told. Where there are hotels, there are thieves, where there are tourists, there are thieves... Thieves also go on vacation so you have local thieves and travelling thieves if you will lol.
Bahaha.. I’ll have to plant some XXXL Magnum condom packages about the room and see what kind of smiles I get from the female (or male?) housekeepers.
