I understand that there are all tastes in music. I think their best bet is just to play a wide variety. I do want to say that being 40+ does not automatically mean that classic rock is your preference. We are 44 and 46 and would prefer as much EDM as possible, especially at Bash. That said, we love all music...especially the kind that keeps the party going!
I think classifying the music as 95% or better as EDM is going a little far. If it was 95% then I would be ecstatic And the 15+ pitbull songs they play a day and latin mixes definitely don't count as EDM. I will say we did enjoy the music much more at the new TTR than the old TTR. Seems like just a matter of different preferences. We do support the recommendation though of variety. Although we don't enjoy the classic rock and other suggestions on this thread we are for whatever keeps people partying and doing naughty things on the dance floor
Having Gone in September as well as last week ( January ) the music variety has gotten extremely better sense Sept. Complete Variety of dance / party music. Not just hard core club music.
There is no way to get groups to agree on music....I don’t even know what an ed Sheerean or LACS are. Bruno and pit bull are way too annoying for my normal tastes. But we step out of our comfort zone and have fun and and party to whatever, including mostly EDM, even though I don’t own any. Of course I would like some 80’s and a few slow songs, but it’s not going to happen, so I am not even expecting it. What would be really great later in the evening is something slow and sultry....but also....prob not going to happen. Anyway...see u all in June. K & J
Can you give a few examples of what music you are talking about that you like? Not sure I know exactly what is EDM.
It may not all be pure EDM but if you look at the list of DJs who have residency at the major clubs in Vegas it will provide a good sampling of the type of music I am referring to. Here is a list of artists: Zedd, The Chainsmokers, Steve Aoki, Tiesto, Borgeous, Marshmello, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Calvin Harris EDM is actually a very specific genera but here it is being used generically to describe a broad range of club/dance music. Check out the playlist of any of these artists on Spotify and you will get a good example of the music I would love to hear at Bash.
Owning a large bar has def changed our perspective. We have found everyone says they want classic rock, but when we have it, no one shows up. Literally. We personally don’t care to hear songs we have heard adnaseum for the last 40 Years. But to each their own. As far as dj’s, if the DJ plays one specific type of music, it seems to do well. If the DJ plays 1/3’s, no one is happy and people leave. Of course Texas music (red dirt) will always be king here, But what we have found is our TouchTunes system is what people really like. We have a killer sound system thru out the building. So people can play what they want. Wonder how that would work at TTR? Plus they would get some income from it. (And there is a skip button if someone plays something really stupid) You can also block genres of music, explicit etc.
I am far from an EDM expert. But this is EDM (electronic dance music): I am not really a fan of the EDM exactly like this. (Where it is basically sounds that are put together to dance to and have corresponding flashing lights). But electronic stuff in general has a place, especially at a setting like bash at night. (Not so much in the pool by day IMO). I just think they should stick to less hardcore stuff and more EDM where there are lyrics and it is more typical of a regular song. For example:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Just go to an Electric Daisy Carnival and pop a tab . . . . you’ll love the music after that. LoL
