Anyone go after booking via the 'Mystery Sale'?

At least you're pretty much guaranteed a nice, quiet room!

 

That is not necessarily surprising, but is interesting since the sale specifically said the deal would NOT be a treny garden view or a penthouse, but could be anything else. I personally don’t care what room type we get when we go, as we have stayed in a trendy garden view before and it was fine, but I am curious to find out as more and more people start to go what room types everyone gets.

 

Just be glad you don't get a parking lot view, or a roof top view of the ac units,, garden can be very nice

 

We are probably the last of the 19 April Addicts couples who arrive on the 14th, as we won't be pulling up to the resort til about 6:00 pm. So I guess I can look forward to a parking lot vista from my "garden" room.

 

Does anyone know if they still let you do the "room game" lol? We've always booked garden view but when we get there we try and get a better room (at least not parking lot)... So we called it the room game.. Have them show us multiple rooms and we get to pick what we like best lol.

Normally we ended up with a Paty O's room but at least we could normally see the ocean.

We're going on a referral booked as a garden room so hopefully it will be a semi decent view.

 

We are going on referral in a Garden View in April, and hoping that means we don't get a parking lot or roof view for my husband's first trip to the resort. I would think that the "room game" (I've played it too) would still work if the resort it not too full, but as I said above, we are going to be likely the last of now 23 CCC couples arriving on April 14th, during a period that is now sold our at the resort. Our booking should be the litmus test of whether Referrals get the better garden rooms or not, as either they will save us one of the nicer rooms for our dinnertime check-in, or everyone else arriving that day will have already played the room game and we'll be stuck with the dregs. It seems logical that if they want to sell memberships, they don't put referral people in the worst rooms. But maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part

Spencer and Mary Anne, what are your dates? If my trip is before yours, I will try to remember to post about what room I was given. Or PM me if I forget (very likely)!

 

In November they offered to show us multiple rooms. We knew what we wanted so didn’t partake in the room game but yeah they still do that. Note you can also be asked to move the next day when a room to your liking may be opening up. We know people that did that in August and November.

 

Yes, I was thinking that we would not bother unpacking the night of the 14th if we didn't care for our room, as that is the last night of the Spring Fling, so a number of rooms should open up on the 15th.

I mean, seriously, was I going to spend my first night at the resort unpacking anyway? Not bloody likely. I'll be dumping my suitcases in whatever room they give us and racing Sean to the bar in my 5" heels.
