My big question. Did they fix the court? The old court has old concrete just 4 inches under the sand. I have wrecked my knees at least twice.
When I was there in November the sand was much better than pre reno. They work it up a couple time a week so it's not like concrete covered with a thin layer of sand anymore. I always play as much as I can while there and it was a much better court. Can't wait to be back there Feb 17th
They just added about 3x the sand to the court. Makes for lousy slow VBall. Harder to move in the deeper sand causing boring rallys
The quality of play back 10 years ago was outstanding for an adults only resort. When Chinos, Omar and the rest of the allstar cast and watersports guys were running things, the VBall was a 'happening' The participation was off the chart. Always at least 30 teams of 4 for the weekly tournament. Sometimes there were over 4o teams. And the tourney winners had to play staff . Somedays....in late fall.....that final game would be played after dusk....because the tourney was so long and intense. You how much Chinos hates losing. The games were entertaining and a showy event. There was always a ton of people just wanting to watch.
