We understand and respect your decision. I once described it like a similar experience that I had years ago. We grew up in a comfortable middle-class home and had many great memories that will be with me forever. When I went away to college, my parents built a new house. It was significantly nicer than the one I grew up in, and I was excited to see it. Everything about it was nicer than the old house, but after a few days, I realized that it was not home. We had made so many memories in the old place that it was hard to imagine that the new place could ever be home. After a few years, we had some great times in the new house and made different memories. I still missed the old place and still drive by it and smile at some of the memories (Such as getting my first BJ upstairs in my room!) but I wouldn't want to go back there. We are approaching the new TTR the same way. We had some great memories over the 13 trips that we made there. (On our first trip, we arrived vanilla, but that ended before the week was over!) I would like to be able to go back, but that's impossible, so we will embrace our 2nd visit to the new TTR with the anticipation of new memories. Hopefully, before long, the new memories will eclipse the old. I hope you reconsider, but support you if you can't. Sam
It will be our first trip since the renovations. We have high expectations from our last trip which was a blur of craziness, buying bottles of Don Julio 1942 across the street, and alcohol infused whip cream (somehow, I remember applying that to Canadians vividly). I figure as long as the staff doesn't interfere in our fun, we will have a blast and drag others down with us along the way.
WHAT?!?!??!!?! OH... Sam wrote this... was freaking out a bit there... That being said.. I 100% agree with your post. I've been back since the reopening.. is it different? Yes it is... but we were there for 2 weeks and after a while everything we were disappointed with in the beginning or had a problem with seem to fad to the back and it grew on us over time. But hell, we can say the same with the shift from BBG to TTR. Remember the world was ending over that one too? Enrique and Lalo left.. no sense in going back after that!!! OMG CHINOS IS GONE!!!!!! Fire the management, they might as well close the doors!!!!! The only constant is change. But this hotel has been around for over 31 years and has been successful for 31 years. Yes they try stuff that doesn't work and they discard it along the way... But trust me, major changes at the Flagship have been thoroughly vetted and discussed before implementation.... Security control is always being tweeked... and face it, that's a hard one to nail down... you have to constantly walk the fine line between fun time and gang rape. Naked women and drunk guys will always present a problem. And yes, sometimes the decision in the management office doesn't get translated exactly as said to the poor slob on the dance floor having to interpret the situation in front of him real time. You know what you are tying to do, he's having to guess at it because even though you think you sucking your wife's tit and rubbing her between the legs is perfectly OK, he doesn't know it's your wife or if she's a willing participant. So forgive him if he is protective of your wife. People bitch like hell when a stranger kisses their wife but complain when they suck her tit. The guard doesn't know who belongs to who. So rather than get all upset, smile and say thank you for protecting my wife, she can say she's OK, laugh about it and let things settle down for a while before trying it again. Yellow cards were introduced to make that guard interaction a little less intrusive and confrontational. Roll with it and play on. Sorry, got off on a little rant there. But back to the point... it may be different than before, but different isn't all bad. Take for example.... every night at the old TTR you could clockwork what was going to happen... every Tuesday it was the same entertainment by the same people. Wednesday the same, Thursday gladly the same, but the same... if you were there longer than a week, it got old, and really not much changed from year to year. Since the opening, new acts are there.. some of the same once from before, but new stuff... and they changed from week to week while we were there.. not all, but some... and there have been new ones I've seen in pictures that I didn't see while I was there.... so now there is variety in the shows and everything is not super predictable. And that's a good thing.... Also think about the changes that have happen since the soft opening that were bitches from the guests that got fixed.... safety issues like the handrails into the pool, fixes for slick floors... and the changing of the table and chairs at bash... it shows they are listening and continuing to improve the product. Hell the only real thing we have to complain about is the price and with the sale they had, they were even working on that.... This is getting real long, but my point is, don't give up on the girl because she got some enhancements done, you usually like that, go check her out and if you stop looking for faults long enough you might start having fun and fall in love all over again. Well said .... A point to make in regards to updates- management listening: At my YMCA (yes, that’s where I workout, I know the people here that know me must think I workout on Venice Beach) they have a bathing suit drying device. It spins the shit . . . err, I mean water out of them super fast. All the time there i’d leave em out on the balcony and they’d dry, but I wouldn’t bring them in on time and they’d be wet again from the rain. LoL.
So what exactly is your plan with this device, mostly to where would it be located? I just imagine a line pf people in the hallway back from the sexy pool waiting to use the machine. Take off your suit, stand there nude, have a little spin time, and then walk back to your room with a fully dry suit...holding it as to not get it wet again. I might want to sign up as the machine operator. You know just so I can make sure everything spins smoothly and everyone is on their best behavior in line.
Roof top should be 24/7. During the day it could still be the 'upgrade' party spot but from like midnight to 8am open to all for the people who vacation on a different schedule and the people that never run out of energy.
