I have not been to TTR for 5 years, but I've read there is still beach volleyball. You just turn up and play. Sometimes you get unlucky and an intense group of wanna-be Olympians hogs the court every day for a week, but most of the time you can play no problem. If your partner doesn't want to play, there are hammocks right beside the court (sure hope those are still there). There used to be Naked Tequila Volleyball in the separate Sports Pool (start clothed, lose a piece of clothing and have to swill tequila punch if you miss a shot), but sadly, the sports pool is gone so I don't think there is any pool volleyball anymore. I'm not sure ... I'M really sad about our sport pool seriously.. We would hang out there after sweating at paty'o.. Quiet pool should be the new sport pool Just need a little bit of reno in it !
Yeah, I was bummed to hear about the demise of the Sports Pool, too. Spent a few late nights in there myself (lost my April Addicts wristband there), but really enjoyed Tequila Volleyball. Hopefully someone else will weigh in on whether there is any pool volleyball now. I can't imagine that would happen in the Sexy Pool...you can't have errant shots knocking over the stumbling drunks like bowling pins.
Just imagine everyone getting hit by a volleyball ball.. hahahahahah !! I ask on facebook group let's see. They would have the space in the quiet pool .. I saw mainly only 2-3 couple once.. Mostly empty ! Never been into not even put a toe in it !
I like to think of myself as more of a weeble wobble than a bowling pin. Close to going down, but somehow manage to stay right side up
We played 2 games of volleyball in the pool with a group of about 16 or so in August (including two of the entertainment staff). It was at the far end of the Sexy Pool, (by the bathrooms) under the “wing” (shady thing going over the bar, across the pool and down to the ground). It was a bit awkward what with the depth, wasn’t square or rectangle space, ball sometimes hit the roof of the wing and there are some fun holes on one side and bar stools on the other.
All of your concerns are pretty typical of a "newbie" . Really nothing to worry about at all. We took our first trip June of 2016 and it was the best trip we've ever been on bar none! We loved it so much we got a membership on the second day and we'll be back in June of this year for our second trip. Last June we tried Desire but we I think we both agree that TTR is way more fun! Just be social and talk to anyone and everyone! The nicest group of people you will ever meet come here! We've made some great friends the last 2 years and look forward to making more come June
We didn't see any pool volleyball in October of November in the Sexy pool. Can't say what happened in the quiet pool though. Tequila volleyball sounds awesome!
