The exhale is the boring/vanilla side. We were offered a free upgrade to exhale our 2nd trip and quickly turned it down. Better money spent getting a swim out room or ocean front in building 4 or 5. The rooms are soundproofed pretty good. If you want to get away from the techno/topless pool during the day you can go to the center activities pool that is fairly benign and large. The outside dance music usually dies down by 7 pm. Either way you should have a blast! It’s a great resort!
Definitely nice to know which rooms to book. Does location of the room make a lot of difference? Is Exhale section same type of room in different location or is it an upgraded room as well? It's always tough to judge rooms from pictures on a website at any rate.
The resort is divided into three sections and each have a pool. The southern is all exhale with their own restaurant. The middle is the energy/activities area where most of the resort daytime vanilla games go on.... pretty chill. The north is the topless area with a pool, elevated dance stage, and huge jacuzzi. The north pool has the foam parties twice a week. Chek it out on google earth or the breathless website. We always stay in building 5 which is between the topless pool and the activities pool and get an oceanfront suite. The beach is also much better at the north end of the resort. And if you are feeling it ... the desires beach is right there you can go over to and get spicy.
Mexico24 has hit the head on the nail with their descriptions. When we were there in November we had a blast. There were quite a few woman topless and quite a few woman in thongs as well. It seemed like there were mostly couples at the resort with a few exceptions of single woman groups and a small group of single males. Do not waste your money on the exhale side...this is the side for the older vanilla people stay. What is sad is that area was entirely dead when we were there, maybe 10 people out during the day on that entire exhale area. We stayed in the very north building with a swim-out room. We are booking another swim-out room on that building in June when we go again. Swim-out rooms are great when getting back from the disco at 2 am!
Thanks Wisconsin for adding insight. Couple of follow up points, how is the evening energy level. Is the Disco jumping or does everyone disappear at sunset? Your 2am comment is encouraging. Closing pools and hot tubs at night is disappointing. Wish that would change. What's the evening attire like for ladies? Anybody wearing clubwear or will cleavage and poky nipples be met with disapproving scowls?
how does that work?.....every time we've been to Desire or Breathless the security at Desire made sure no outsiders used their beach for anything more than a walkway
No issues at all with security. Some couples were going back and forth with friends staying at each resort. All beaches in Mexico are open to the public and there are no private beaches. We found that if you stopped and said hi to someone it went pretty smooth. It was low key for sure and no gawking....just a friendly “hi”and a dip in the ocean with no inhibitions. I was kind of worried tha security would keep is moving but we stopped and talked with a desires couple and ended up in the ocean there for a while. We were discrete but not hiding our actions for sure. I suppose if a group from outside would come over and be intrusive it would be a way different story. Fact is after we were there we tried to cancel out last 4 days at breathless and move to desires because we felt like we fit in but desires was fully booked a couple of the nights. Didn’t think we would be offending any desires patrons but maybe we did. I apologize if we did.
As for cleavage and nippley dresses / tops at breathless for dinner or the disco. K has abandoned her resort dresses and now only brings yandy. Very low cleavage and/or no bra. No problem. Other women definitely brought out their more risqué clothes also. The vanilla crowd there disappears early for sure.
The disco went well into the night and was full with people every night. As for attire...there were all types. The group we were with was mostly wearing very short dress or skirts and showing lots of cleavage...no issues at all at dinner or the disco dressed that way. I do not think many woman at the disco were wearing bras or panties for that matter.
WJimmy and M24, sounds like the dress code at night is about what we hoped. Need to have a few people out there pushing the sexy a bit. It's also good to hear the disco has a crowd at night. Some reviews seemed to indicate things shut down post dinner. Too bad the pools aren't open but at least there's an active crowd working the night shift. Didn't want to bring the sexy clothes unless there would be at least a few people who would appreciate it. Sounds like the right place to wear things that could shock the PTA crowd, but maybe short of the Hedonism - leather bustier with nipple chain leash- outfit.
