So after my last visit, during the first weeks of the "soft opening", I wanted to get a good understanding of the different new Tower Room types. Sadly during my member upgrade tour I could not get in really any of the new rooms, as they were all either occupied or being working on. And sadly I wasn't invited to "work on" anything in the new rooms myself, even though I am very handy. So I really can't do too much comparisons between them. But what I can do, and hopefully this eliminates some confusion, is break out what it is I do know. Some people seem to be slightly confused with these new room categorizes, even after booking them for their upcoming trips. Also, please feel free to add your own thoughts to this tread with pictures of the room types that I don't have. Bash tower room - (86 total) these are the lowest priced, smallest and most basic. They are on the sides of the tower with an angled ocean view, double sinks, and a sitting area. Lush tower suites - (13 total) a small price difference up from the Bash room, slightly larger, have a rectangle 2 person Jacuzzi (can squeeze to a fun four ) on the balcony. They are set back in the middle center of the tower with strait-shot ocean views, double sinks, and also have a sitting area. Oceanfront Master suites - (6 total) - large price increase from the Lush room, similar interior size as the Lush, have a larger round Jacuzzi on the balcony. These are on the edges of the tower, closest to the water and the main feature is the very large wrap around balcony(though if you are in one of the two bottom units, the balcony doesn't wrap on all 3 sides). They also have the double sinks, but include a second smaller Jacuzzi tub inside the bathroom. You could have some serious parties in these rooms, and they even have the plastic bar furniture you could setup stuff on outside. Oceanfront Penthouses - (4 total) - Yeah so I will probably never see these in my life, but obviously they are awesome and you would probably have to be $$ loaded (seeings how they don't even list a price) to stay in one. They are on the top edges of the tower, have a balcony with a mini pool/Jacuzzi, a living room, lots of space and an in-room Jacuzzi tub as well. Looks like there is a large table and bar type setup on the balcony as well. Here are pictures of a Bash tower room. Entry Bathroom sinks (shower is to the left. Toilet is on the right behind it's own door) Hallway Bed and sitting area Balcony (looking left) Balcony (looking slight right towards ocean and the sexy pool) Personal thoughts - These bash rooms do not seem like much of a upgrade from a regular old (Garden & Ocean) room. They are larger in size, and the bathroom is better, and I do like the sitting area, but the main thing that is lacking for me is the balcony. If you were to book one of these, you do have the ocean view, but depending on how your head is turned you could be looking at the rooms across the tower. Also, if you are on the lower floors you can't even see the pool or the bash apple. The main appeal in staying in the tower to me would be the birds eye view on the awesome stuff happening down below. If you are on the inside and on a lower floor, this "pool/beach view" is not really existent. So to me it would be a gamble if I was going to get a better tower room or not on arrival. Obviously you can get a master suite instead to insure you have a view of the pool, bash, and the ocean, but frankly I would rather put that money towards two trips instead of busting my full load on one. Maybe if the prices come down and it isn't too much of a difference between them, this would be a different case, we just aren't there yet. Just wanted to throw these thoughts out there, and get some conversation started. Like I said, please feel free to add whatever you want to this thread Bonus - Here is a picture of Elyse in a bikini on a boat. (because sadly in my trip review she always had a damn cover-up on. Who the hell invented them stupid things, wtf)
Can't help but think the penthouses will rarely get booked by regular clients - approx price is going to be $2000 per night. Lots of the new Premier contracts include free nights in the Penthouse and since there are only 4 of them I can't help but think they were built mainly for that reason.
Hmmm, I did hear something like that as well. Seems like kind of an odd strategy for selling, because getting a couple of free nights in a room wouldn't really secure my purchase. If anything I wouldn't even know when I would want to use them during my trip. For example, do you do it in the beginning of your trip? But you might be tired from travel and not fully take advantage of the room. Or do you use it at the end of the trip? But then sometimes you are burnt out, and once again not be able to fully take advantage. Or right in the middle of the trip, when it might be the most fun and the bulk of your friends are there, but then you have to move rooms two times. Just seems like a pain in the ass. Well hopefully this does actually lead to partying in the penthouse at least once in my future, as maybe someone out there invites us to a room party.
Agreed. I have 5 free Penthouse nights included in my contract. They told me each night would retail for $2K so it was a $10K value. I said to take the nights off and I'd pay $10K less. Suddenly it didn't "work that way". Not sure when we will get to use them either. Since we're local and have the luxury of flightless travel, I'm thinking most likely 2 separate stays of 2 nights and 3 nights probably for birthdays or anniversaries. Hopefully our dates will coincide as you'll be most welcome at the room party.
For our first trip we stayed in a Bash Tower room around 3 or 4 rooms further in than the room from where you took the pics. I remember the three girls that were cleaning/polishing the tiles. It wasn't raining at the time, it was blistering hot. I emptied our mini bar of snacks and drinks (minus the alcohol) and gave it to them. They were most grateful. The minibar never did get re-stocked.
I agree that booking a standard Bash tower room, for the price increase what's the point? You 'may' get a slightly better view, but asides from that there's no difference between that and a garden view. They need to think of some extras to make it worth the extra cost. Maybe that top floor bar/pool will be exclusive for tower guests and premier. I haven't checked, do standard Bash tower guests get butler service? If not, they should.
Yea that's one thing they are talking about, but since it isn't open yet no one really knows. I heard that the bar will be for everyone, but the pool with be exclusive for members and tower guests. That kind of just seems weird to me cause it's like you can be up there too hang, but you can't put your "toes" in the pool. They still have not added the sky bar back to the "restaurants and bars" section on the resort website. I am not sure how that is working, and it isn't advertised on the web page. They do list "Pool & beach butler service" for tower guests, but that isn't the same thing as them personal butlers that help you with stuff. They might just be for members and guests in the various suite types.
We had a personal Butler in the master suite. That was nice. Took care of reservations and checked on us from time to time. Had the blue bands but the other tower guests did not. Saw someone say all tower had blue now? Figure if they are eventually going to do special services for the tower they will need a way to identify them. In November we are doing a regular bash room to compare, unless I can convince them to upgrade us again : )
Saw a video walkthrough of the penthouse today on FB, so definitely at least one open now. First trip we had black wristbands even though we stayed in the Tower, have another Tower stay coming up in one week's time so we'll see.
