Have only been to the Asian, Buffet and Mexican.

The Asian we really enjoyed - ate from the menu not the hibachi. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala which was unlike any Chicken Tikka Masala I've ever had. I didn't think it could be done a different way! It was ok but I wouldn't order it again, the menu is huge though so plenty of choices next time. Service was fast - I like that. In and out!

The Mexican, went there after the Boobs Cruise with a group - it was around 5pm so probably not the same stuff they do at night. Jannet fetched me a plate of food and other than the Guacamole I didn't like anything on it! Not a huge fan of Mexican food.

The buffet, went there a few times. I normally just eat soup and cake :) But did have a nice spaghetti that they cook to order in front of you.

As you can tell, eating isn't always my first priority!

Oh and everyone really should try Sea Flirt for breakfast.

Nice menu, great service and hardly anybody there. I dont think many people know it is open for Breakfast apart from us and @Len from the Floor

I agree with Steve about Sea Flirt for Breakfast. I too thought the menu was very nice - a few items that seemed unusual. I tend to order eggs benedict when it is on a menu, purposely made myself order something that sounded out of my comfort zone the first time I was there - it was called eggs Motulenos and was outstanding. Second time, I reverted to form and the eggs benedict and this time I was a bit less impressed. But it was nice that the place was almost empty and it was very relaxing being served rather than have to get my own food at the buffet. Good side effect - I actually ate less, because you know how a buffet works. Also recommended - the energetic juice - not sure it really gave me energy, but it tasted great. :) One note of caution - I believe at some point the breakfast in this restaurant will be members and Referrals only.

I was actually going to start a thread asking everyone to write their quick restaurant reviews. I have noticed that restaurant reviews tend to get spread out over trip reports and other threads - hard to find a "consolidated" place to easily get the scoop. Not trying to hijack the poll at the top, but I think this compliments the poll, so I am going to start with my reviews. Hopefully, a bunch of people will contribute and as more people go to the new TTR we will be able to see if things get better or go downhill. For easy readability, I start mine as a separate post.

One word of caution - one restaurant per night (except Fri/Sat - I think) is closed. However, unless someone knows something I don't, there is no way to know which restaurant that is on a given night. I don't know if it is standard rotation i.e. Sutra on Monday, Romanza on Tuesday or if it is more random. The only way I found out Sutra was closed on Thursday was by walking in, noticing no one else was there, standing there like an idiot for 5 minutes hoping someone would come help me and finally concluding it was closed. Not even a sign on the door. I ran into some employee right outside the restaurant who looked up some sort of schedule on his phone and confirmed it was closed. Sure be nice if they published that somewhere. End of rant.

    My restaurant reviews:

Sea Flirt - excellent, a definite step up from the pre-reno seafood restaurant. I ordered my Sesame Tuna medium (in the USA I find they tend to undertook Tuna (to me) so I usually order it a bit more done than I really want. Here, medium was medium - not their fault. Next time I'll try it medium rate.

Sutra (Asian)- hibachi one night - pretty good, great show. Reservation required for the hibachi menu only. I thought it was a bit bland, but then I tried the dipping sauces - much better. Second visit I ordered from the menu - loved the appetizers (the ones they bring without you asking as well as what I ordered), the soup and the rolls. The Pekin (yes- no "g" at the end - LOL) Duck was good - though not as good as the duck in the old Asian.

Italian - very good too - I thought about the same as pre-reno. Wasn't thrilled with my dish - just wasn't what I thought it would be - quality seemed fine though. Service seemed rush to me (friends who ate there the night before said the same thing) which I passed on to the manager. They still have the sexy coffee - watching them make it is a great show - even if you don't drink coffee, order it and give it to another table.

Steak House - not particularly good. Not awful, but just not exciting at all, especially if you read the "hype" on the website for this restaurant. I asked the waitress for her suggestion - she suggested the Porterhouse so I ordered it. Cooked fine, a bit fatty (but not excessively), fairly thin compared to what I am used to in the US. But almost no taste what so ever. They need to work on seasoning the meat.

Mexican for lunch - very nice selection if you try the buffet. Menu seemed to have fewer Mexican Dishes then pre-reno (although it was always a mixture of Mexican, Burgers, Pizza and whatever else). I used to love the shrimp tacos - no longer on the menu, but they did make them for me anyway. I did not have dinner there, but my understanding is that there is only a buffet at dinner - no menu.

The buffet - great for breakfast. I didn't have lunch there. The one dinner was eh (same as pre-reno) - although they did have Teppanyaki (sp?) at the grill and I thought it was very, very good. Not sure if they do that every night or rotate the grilled items.

Bash (late night snacks and more) - this one is a huge improvement over the beloved Paty-Os late night snacks. Bash burgers actually taste like burgers compared to Paty-O burgers (which I know people loved...but I think alcohol consumption was the only thing that made them good - LOL), and there is a large selection of other hot and cold items. The only thing curiously missing - and not that I needed it - was dessert items (although they did have fruit).

I did not eat in She.

Sea Flirt for breakfast - excellent - see my earlier post in this thread.

My overall take - I always thought the food pre-reno was pretty good (except for the lunch/dinner buffet which was and still is serviceable at best, in my opinion). Now, overall I think they took a step backwards and the food certainly does not meet the "gastronomic ecstasy" that the website promises. If they want to be 4.5 or 5 star hotel, they need some serious attention to the food.

Definitely. I'd like to share a funny story about this from my first trip to TTR.

I’ve only once missed a dinner reservation, booked for the evening after my first Boobs Cruise (rookie mistake). Too much boat tequila, it hit me hard back on dry land. The husband helped me back to our room and I managed to get situated on our balcony. Couple in the room opposite recognised us from the boat and invited us over for a drink. Big mistake. 15 mins later I’m so wasted even I know I’m fucked up. Excused myself to try and sober up, spray my face with cold shower water etc. as I’m conscious I’ve got a dinner reservation in a few hours. Everything gets a bit fuzzy after that. I remember getting dressed, doing hair and make-up etc. but it's a blank after that. Next thing I know, I wake up alone in the room on top of the bed, I’ve no idea what time it is but it’s pitch black outside and Paty O music is blaring out behind the door so I know it’s late. I’m naked and dinner clothes are on the floor. I have no memory of leaving the room or going to dinner. Since I’m alone and there’s no note, my first thought is that I’ve fucked up, blacked out and gone to dinner in a terrible state and made a complete show of myself, to such an extent that the husband has taken me back to the room and left me there to sleep it off. I got dressed and managed to locate the husband at Paty O, apologising profusely for whatever I did that got me sent back to the room. Turns out neither of us made it to dinner. Apparently we were both ready early, and decided to take a 5-minute power nap to sleep off the post-Boobs Cruise fuzz. That turned into a 7-hour nap for me. I’m just glad I didn’t make it to dinner! I learnt my lesson about pacing drinks the hard way that day. A good tip for new travellers, DO NOT make dinner reservations for the same day you’re on a Boobs Cruise. There’s a good chance you’re not going to make it.

Hahaha Trish, I almost thought that story was going to end with you making the dinner (100% blacked out), but everyone said you were well behaved, had an amazing meal, then went back to the room and had amazing sex, passed out, but later still made it to PattyOs. Wouldn't that be amazing if it ever actually worked out that way??!!

More true words have never been spoken. I won't even make plans for dinner that night, let alone a reservation.

Does that mean you normally don't make it to dinner after the cruise? Do you get that hammered on the boat? Sorry lots of newbie questions and we are doing the Boobs Cruise this Friday, trying to prep :)

No problem for newbie questions at all. That's what we are all here for.

I can't speak for everyone, but I know a lot of people that have been on the cruise. Obviously it all depends on how much you decide to drink on the cruise. Nothing is pushed on you, but I will say they do make it pretty easy to get drunk. You won't wait for a drink for more then a minute if you don't want to. After, sometimes people stumble right from the boat dock strait to their rooms, then it's lights out until the next AM. Lots of others make it back to the pool after the cruise for a couple hours (where things tend to get crazy awesome), then it might be back to the room and lights out till the next morning.

Late night you will very rarely see the bulk of the people that were on the cruise that day, unless you are smart and nap after, then head back out. Typically rookies do not pull this move. But by all means do try hahahaha.

Don't forget, there is a awesome beach lunch when on the cruise. I usually forget to eat during this, and that's typically were a fun downward spiral begins. I would not recommend this. Use this land lunch time to recharge.
