First, the water level was, in my opinion unfortunately, returned to full today. Apparently, some of the seats at the bar needed to be repaired, so that is why the water level was lowered. I was told this by someone who was out there while they were working on them. By the way, I am at TTR now Next, they are working on the tiles to make to them less slippery. They have crews with scrapers adding texture to the tiles. You can feel the difference when you walk on them. However, there hasn't been any significant rain since they started this so I can't say that this is fixed for sure. Finally - the "deck drop-off" issue. I get that aesthetics drove this. To me, the simple and least obtrusive fix is to add steps to the "missing" center section. I don't think it would have any impact on the aesthetics and doesn't seem like it would be hard to do. The next best idea would be a railing - some nice aluminum posts with a thin silver wire about waste high wouldn't affect the look much at all (IMO of course). I think painting the ledge still leaves too much chance of a fall and would not be very aestheticly pleasing. By the way, great report Steve. And most of all, no matter what, as far as I'm concerned the vibe is better than ever. I'm having a blast!!!
No. Only the middle section was leveled and the new tower built. This was basically the old heart of the resort with the lobby, offices, main buffet, gym, outside night-time party spot, and other stuff like that. Then the tower has all that stuff, plus other new stuff, and the tower rooms (it was an addition of like 100 rooms/suites or something). The old sexy pool and sports pool were also completely demolished, and the new larger sexy pool was built. The rooms all around the quiet pool, and the rooms on the other side of the tower were all gutted and remodeled. (any rooms types listed as Bash or Lush tower are the new rooms)
What kind of coffee makers are in the rooms now? We always bring our own coffee and wondered what filters or pod we needed to bring ( yes may sound crazy but Deb runs a coffee shop and very selective on her coffee,)
I didn't really take note, but something I read somewhere else said the are "Nespresso" machines. So I am pretty sure you have to talk to George Clooney about getting some special pods.
Steve, that's one hell of a TR, my man! You... could have described a ... little... of the debauchery in the sexy pool for us, though. Just use nicknames to protect the guilty, as you said!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ No. Not a good idea. Ummmm, what happens in TTR was just your imagination. And in case you were wondering, my nicknames are not : stud, stud muffin, easy or sleazy. And especially not sassy pants. It may be the energizer bunny though, that depends on who you ask. Jonathan
Wow!!!! I think you covered everything! That helps a lot - we've been debating whether to go before or after the re-opening. Thank you so much! Corrie & Justin
First, awesome report. It answered a lot of my questions. To those who've been, what would you estimate the sexy pool water depth to be? I'm only 5' tall, so if it's 4' there will definitely be pool water in my drink! Is the quiet pool more shallow? TIA, first trip is next month!
Ha, yes lots to say. I like the long reports though (as you know from mine). But yes it takes a while to write and to read. In fact I stopped posting for almost a week as I focused on getting thru your report with the limited time I had ha. Work, kids return to school, fall sports, etc. sadly has limited time available for ccc. But starting this week determined to find time to do a report now too. Great report though as always. Thanks for taking the time.
