Hey everyone, thought I'd write a trip report for our experiences from our 2nd visit to TTR...... here it goes. First, we booked a garden view room, so we were put in room 1431, it was nice and quiet on that side when it was time to get rest and not hear the pumping bass from the music till 3am, and not too far from the sexy Pool. Pros- Room was nice and clean Huge comfy bed with lots of soft pillows Balcony didn't face the front of the resort Nice lighting in room Full length mirror in closet Robe & slippers provided Stocked fridge with water beer, soda & juice Safe Nice size TV Cons- -AC was not working, more like a fan setting (fixed on 5/6 day) -Phone didn't work (fixed on 4/6 day) -TV went out majority of trip -After showering, the entire bathroom floor would be soaked. -No drawers to store clothes Overall the room was nice and comfortable, suitable enough for a couple. Sexy Pool-is way larger than before and it is always a great place to spend the day, drink, have fun and meet new people. Enjoyed the waiters and waitress who came around to take drink orders. Javier is my fave bartender Entertainment at the pool was fun to watch! Restaurants- -Buffet- for breakfast was good, variety for everyone. Omelette the best as always. Decent coffee, Fresh OJ -SHE- 7 course meal, small portions, the duck was the best to me. Ambiance is perfect for what they are attempting to provide. I was disappointed there were no entertainment the nite we had dinner. -SeaFlirt- Floors very slippery, for dinner the food was good, ceviche was fresh and tasty, chicken and avocado salad was the best! Coconut Shrimp was just ok. Desert was delish had a few choices we tried. (2nd Fave) -Mexican- buffet style and just alright salmon was good. -Romanza (Italian)- Good, lasagna was pretty salty though, would be prefect otherwise. Cream of artichoke soup was delish and savory. Shrimp ravioli was good as well. Risotto was not my cup of tea -Asian- We chose to eat at the hibachi, we loved our cook, he was funny and great entertainer. Food was really good and cooked well (1st Fave). Was told that if you didn't sit for hibachi and sat at regular tables and ordered from menu, it was even better -Steak Restaurant- did not get to try Grille- outside on side of Bash was good for late nite eats, good fries, burgers, hotdogs, tacos, and nachos. Nite Entertainment -Bash- Outdoor main party location (Old paty O), huge. Stage in center a lot of places to sit around. Huge bar and enough staff to take drink orders. Didn't witness many of the "shows", lingerie nite was a runway show which was pretty short and nothing spectacular. They did pull out the poker and roulette tables to play for fun which was nice. Music system was good but DJ played the same songs nite after nite. -Sports Bar- Nice and big compared to the last one, attended one time through out trip to watch the Mayweather fight, which the TV kept going in and out due to streaming. -Jaccuzzi-On level of Bash was nice to attend at nite with the group of people we met, def wasn't hot but the people inside made it hot lol Overall, our return to TTR was pretty much what we expected and more. There was still a lot of construction going on and felt they may have cut corners to open when they said they would, they did get a lot done in 10 months so that's great. Once everything is completely done I am sure it will be 10x better..... We felt there were more people who were into the "lifestyle" at this time versus 4 years ago. We are not, but received many propositions which we kindly declined and were never pressured. We still enjoyed ourselves and would def go back. FYI, make sure they attach your bracelets tight enough so you won't lose them, $50 if you do lose it. Any questions, on anything I may not have covered feel free to send them through. Thanks!
Sounds like the same ole thing, but we LOVE IT! Always voted "prudes" but have fun anyway. Good to know about where to hibernate to get actual sleep! Seems we mostly get rooms that rob us of that. Never any storage, so hang stuff from any railing, shower, or whatever, They must like to see what we wear in other countries-lol. Not sure how great a full length mirror IN the closet works! and robe & slippers? Too hot for those! So, keep your things off the ground is what I'm hearing. Swimming, anyone? Do they still have theme nights? Loved those! Artists renderings did not show umbrellas, so extra sunblock? Can't wait until April Addicts, y'all! but we
We had a great time hanging out with you guys almost every day/night. Pretty much agree on most of the things you said. Slight differences in food taste, as to be expected. We didn't have as bad of a problem with our A/C. I'll admit at times it didn't feel like it was working as hard as I like, like old TTR freezing you, however the missus was getting sick & losing her voice from the late nights in the jacuzzi with you guys and lack of sleep. You helped make it hot in there too guys. We never used the TV until this (3rd) trip. Only turned it on once. Found out that they now charge $5.00 to rent a porn movie for 24 hours. Rented "Jacuzzi heaven" and realized it was us in the jacuzzi from the night before. just kidding.
Yes pretty much the same although we aren't hearing that they are trying to change the whole ambiance of the hotel theme with the new oweners and all. Security were a little bit on the extra side while we were there. We were open to having fun and I being topless which I did not participate in the first trip there, but we never took part in the "lifestyle" activities, and never judged those who did take part. Yes the mirror was on the closet door but atleast there was one lol. Robes we didn't use but loved the logos on them and the option. They have plenty umbrellas on the sexy pool and beach. Theme nites they still have. Seemed like all the new people didn't dress up but enough people did which made it fun. Always bring extra sunblock that sun can be vicious.
I'm glad to hear that no one pressures anyone to do anything. We are more of a couple that it is okay for me to have fun with a female friend but both agree not to fool around with the opposite sex so it is good to hear we can still have fun and not be pressured. So looking forward to February.
Wanted to just clarify this. There isn't a new owner. Diego de la Pena 'Mr Cancun' is the original owner. He has 5 children. The Old Temptation was ran by Paty his eldest daughter (hence Paty O Bar). Paty moved sideways to run Desire and Rodrigo (her brother) now runs TTR. Rodrigo brought in a new guy as his Operations Director aka right hand man - Carlos. He is the 6'6" guy from Puerto Rico that some of you may see around. The other children of Diego all have some kind of interest in the hotel, one runs the gift shop, another's husband ran Albatros (the catamarans) but died a few years ago it's now run by their sons, another daughter runs the Social media. Roberto (another son) is in charge of Premier. It's very much always been a family business and I cant see that changing at any point in the future.
Thanks for sharing. Glad you enjoyed your trip. The item that most caught my attention is I am disappointed to hear the music has gone back to the old school style with the same thing every night repeated. When we were there we experienced a lot of variety. But I think that is likely because they brought in guest DJs to amp up the party the first few nights. On every check out we will start providing that variety in music feedback. Although they didn't even give us an exit survey this time. Did you all get one?
Great report...thanks! Sounds like the vibe is similar or the same once you get down to it. Most disturbing is the comment on the DJ choice of music at Bash. Sounds (no pun intended) that is the same old BS with the same playlist every night. I guess the guest DJ's from the soft opening have vanished as expected ? Question: was there any live music? They used to bring in a Rock n Roll band at least one night a week and EVERYONE dances to the music most are familiar with. A great vibe and great time.
