Just curious, was TTR or Desires mentioned in any way? Meaning tainted alcohol was found there? I doubt not. But a possibility.
Nope not mentioned FYI - the two bars that where shut down where for sanitation infractions not alcohol related The follow up to this tainted alcohol "click bait" story is that no alcohol has tested as "tainted", including what was from the Iberostar(where this story about the death of the girl started) in a report: Lab tests confirm no adulterated alcohol , which was released a couple of weeks ago.
Thank you for your reply. As you most likely understood my questions were rhetorical and meant to make a point. You appear to be following or know something about this topic and appreciate your interest. I get tired of all the fear mongering press reports. I do understand people have lost their lives but as I stated some do each day in a variety of ways...like driving to work or being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Don't read about that in the Newspapers or on national news programs too often, do we?
Kyle - according to any charts I've seen on line, 5 to 6 shots consumed within a one hour period(which is the timeframe the brother admitted to) will land you between 0.25 and 0.30 depending on your weight and your sex
might want to watch the video and read the complete page. Mexican authorities seize illicit alcohol in crackdown at resorts
Every time I read these posts I want to hit my head against a wall. There are multiple reasons for the " Illicit Alcohol " tainted out of date No chain of command (require from maker through to resort or bar) missing or incomplete labels And a list of others To say that 10,000 gallons of Liquor was tainted and seized would be incorrect. Are there problems, yes. are they working on them, yes. Should you be careful, yes. Should you be paranoid about it and not go, NO. If you chose not to go because of it that is your choice and good luck finding a perfectly bubble safe vacation spot.
I did.... two weeks ago. Nowhere does it mention tainted alcohol was found, because it wasn't. In any case I'm not going to rely on a Milwaukee subsidiary of USA Today for my Cancun news any more than I rely on Novedades Quintana Roo for my Milwaukee news.
I personally watched a woman drink a full bottle of tequila! Shot after shot until it was gone. I'm no Dr, and she was a bigger woman but I'm thinking it was a pretty stupid move and she risked alcohol poisoning. People do sh*t on vacation at all inclusive resorts that they would never do at home then blame the resort for their stupidity. It's called personal responsibility.
Two thoughts for anyone who is nervous: First- the resort is awesome about giving you water or weak drinks. There is no pressure/harassment to drink from staff (a touch in the games but you know that when you sign up) Second- at TTR you are with a much more social group than another resort. Your new friends will look out for you (although they will take pictures). I've seen people walked/wheelchaired/carried to their rooms by people who only just met them cuz it was the right thing to do. We just got back from Grand Oasis which is mentioned in a number of the articles. I'm not saying any opinions other than two observations. First, we literally had our glasses filled with 2/3 vodka and almost no ice or mixer more than once. It was hard to actually get them to make it a reasonable strength drink (hello it's a marathon not a sprint). Second, there are people who for a number of reasons think it's funny to slip things in a drink (entertainment/burglary/assault the list goes on) and I witnessed many people who were lax with their drinks. If you don't leave your drink unattended at home then why do it on vacation?
