For us 10 is the perfect amount of time, that being said we have stayed up to 21 . That was only because we knew the resort would be closing for renovations and needed our TTR addiction to make it thru a prolonged absence. We have 14 coming up Sept 2-16, a little longer to check out the changes and get our on!
That's a good idea. We actually started with looking at one of the Hyatt hotels and Le Blanc, but my wife was worried (based off of reading reviews) that she might be the only one topless woman at the pool. We looked at the Desire hotels, but she doesn't think she's quite ready for naked people around all of the time.
Our first trip was 14 days great trip about 3days to long Trip 2 was 7 days and did not want to leave yet. trip 3, 5 Days and no where near long enough Next trip is 7 days and hope it feels long enough but I think I wish we could do 10days the perfect amount.
Everyone is going to be different and all the above comments have valuable info. One thing I did not see mentioned is how often do you plan on returning (assuming you like it, which is nearly guaranteed) !). Out thoughts.... (assuming you return once a year) Don't ask how many "DAYS" at TTR , ask how many "NIGHTS" (because generally the last day is a wash because you are prepping to leave) Every day/night is different, so at 7 nights you can experience all 7 themes etc, then add a night for any day excursions you plan on doing, Like Tulum, Xcaret, etc. because those are best as a full day. 8 to 10 nights seems to be the sweet spot for us. Also check flights, the day you leave and return can have a huge price difference. For example, flying on a week day may be so much cheaper, that it actually pays for an extra night's stay. It has for us in the past.
We have always done 7 and find it just a little too short, so we are going for 9, should satisfy our vacation needs!
Getting the in-laws to take the kids for that long is rare, so it may be a few years before we can make it back again (our youngest is 12). With long flights, layovers and expected airport delays, 2 days are already toast from traveling. I agree, 8-10 nights are resort sounds like a good range. So far, May and June have pretty cheap flights and hotel stays, I guess that's a plus side to going when it's not busy.
We think 7 days is about right for us! Hey Mike and Sherrie... We were with Greg and Jill, Rick and Tami, Vince and Shondelle, and a bunch of other Canadians and met you in April 2015 while you were in the middle of your 21 day marathon visit! You two are troopers. Most of the group is heading for a 7 day stay Sept 29-Oct 7 joining Octoberbreasters to check out the renovation. Sorry we will miss you but maybe will catch you again the beginning of April 2018, our next planned visit...assuming all goes well. We did take the plunge a bought in as Premier via a resale contract. The folks had just bought last year and were worried about not being able to afford the new pricing structure...we will see if we can too!
If you are going in June, I think it would be worth trying to coordinate your days with the "June Junkies" group. They are a blast. Dawn and Curtis are the leaders and they are very welcoming and fun folks.
