When I was in Puerto Vallarta, a short stroll down the beach from my resort led me to a canopy set up by a number of massage therapists. A 60 minute deep tissue massage was only $20. The practitioner was technically sound and provided excellent pressure. Is there anything like that available in close proximity to Temptations? I detest resort massages. I find them overpriced and way too light in pressure to ease trigger points in an athletic. muscular person.
Before the renovation there used to be a beach massage available a short distance down the beach (to the left as you face the water). Rates were $40 per hour if my memory is correct. Still much cheaper than resort.
Last I heard Claudia was still there - still advertising at least. She was down the beach to the left also. Never had one by her, but many TTR people swear by her.
We walk down the beach at least 2 times for a message during a 7 day stay. 40-50 depending on which hut you go to, there are two. I would not call any of the times we have gone a deep tissue but they are nice and relaxing.
I'd rather blow $40-50 for a massage that may or may not be good then a few hundred on a resort massage that is almost never truly therapeutic.
Same as others, turn left on the beach & just a little ways down. I hope they're still there! Can't beat the price $40. L
