We'll be first-timers in December and--of course--we've got our preconceived ideas about what the place will be like what we'll like and dislike about it. Seems like most of you have been there before, so I'm wondering--what's something you thought would happen there, but didn't? Or something which concerned you going in, that turned out to be a non-issue?
People being non judgmental, was told about it and read it all over the CCC forums but before our first trip we said yea right, we were proved wrong shortly after out arrival. T
My wife was concerned it was for life style people. Though that happens, it's very low key. It was more a place for adults to party and say who gives a!
Michelle said she would not be going topless! That lasted one afternoon! Now on trip 7, she packs one top for the Boobs Cruise as we are in town briefly! LOL
Two big ones for us... 1. Myth: We thought the 'swingers' would be a problem. And we would be pressured to do things we wouldn't want to. Reality: They were not a problem. Nice, fun people. Wasn't in your face. Very respectful. No pressure. And we actually wanted to do some of those things lol. 2. Myth: Would not go topless. Would not feel comfortable. There would be too much oogling. Reality: Topless in an hour. Bought a thong. Felt comfortable. Some oogling but mostly not a big deal.
I was unsure what it would be like talking to people that were topless or in very small outfits. Not that I would be nervous or anything, but like I wasn't sure if I had to be more restrictive of myself when introducing myself and being fun with people that don't know me. Like should I say hi to this naked person in my normal friendly way or will they think I can coming on to them. Found out in about 5 minutes that this isn't an issue at all, and was all in my head. I got pretty desensitized to the fact people are clothed more scandalously very quickly and it was just business as normal in my initial interactions with people. The other thing I think I can chime in on is the topless thing for your own partner. Yes everyone says the tops come off easier than you would expect, which is 100% true. But from my wife's perspective, it isn't a problem that she mostly keeps her top on. She definitely doesn't have a problem with being naked (and on the Boobs Cruise might be one of the first fully in the buff...minus the captains hat), but she normally prefers to have her top on because she feels it helps actually gives her boobs and looks better. People will ask why her top isn't off, and I guess she says something along the lines I just described above, and from there no one really pressures her about it again.
Age would be an issue. Amanda and I were 27 on our first trip in May of 2015. Being on the boards we found we were on the younger end of the spectrum. After talking to people on here we felt a little better but it still was something that we weren't sure about. After we got to the resort and the initial "first day of school" awkwardness wore off (5 min after being at the sexy pool and her top already off) we realized that no one really gave a shit about our age. We talked to everyone and it didn't matter. We do seem to fit in with a little older crowd, but I don't think that mattered. It's that everyone's there for similar reasons. After a couple fun questions about Amanda even being 21 it was normal adult conversation.
I HOPE that I am wrong about the food being subpar, the alcohol being less than premium, and the beach being utterly terrible. I guess I'll find out.
If you're looking for a turquoise water beach with crashing waves, you will be a bit disappointed... it's not the crystal blue caribbean you see in pictures. Jo & Ferdinand by Kristen78 posted Feb 4, 2014 at 10:53 AM It's calm, mostly flat water, there's some seaweed. No one goes for the beach...
