I have heard positive and negative accounts concerning the presence of single males at TTR. What I don't hear a lot about are stories about single females? Are they rare and elusive creatures at TTR, or do they just seem to blend in better with the rest of the crowd? What are the typical TTR demographics? 80% couples? 15% single males? 5% single females? I'm just throwing those numbers out there to facilitate discussion, because I really have no idea (first trip September 2017).
Maybe it's the times of the year, or the groups I have gone with, and I don't want to be a negative Nancy, but I feel in 4 trips I have never seen more then 1% or 2% single girls. As you said "rare and elusive creatures" is a very accurate depiction.
That's what I figured. That's why I always wander "off the reservation". I never spend 100% of my time on a resort.
Yea that's not a bad idea. And again it could totally just be the time I am there, and the crowd that I am with during those times. It is a lot of repeaters that know each other, and it is mostly couples. But there could be a group of single girls on the other side of the pool that I don't even know about, and somehow my wife hasn't sniffed them out, haha.
The single females do definitely exist though I will say there has been issues in the past with single guy groups in September coming from the U.K. @Steve may be able to add some thoughts/context. I may have this mixed up but there may be some holiday or reason a lot take holiday as they say in September???
We have always found the single ladies and this year we are bringing two with us. BUT yes rare very rare.
Can't think of a reason why September would be a popular time for UK males to travel in packs. Prices from the UK are generally cheap in September once kids are back at school, but the main drivers for 'lads' to travel together are Spring Break, end of May/June (football season is finished, and starts in August - teams will often organise and end of season get away) and again May and June for bachelor / stag parties ahead of summer weddings. That said you will find all types at all times so certainly groups of English blokes aren't 100% confined to the times of year I mentioned.
So why is TTR largely unattractive to single ladies and single lady packs? There are plenty of threads regarding single males. I am more concerned about hearing about the women since that seems to be a demographic gap.
It's not that the single ladies aren't attracted to TTR, there there just not all the time each week of the year and generally not in packs except for maybe Spring Break. T
