I was thinking about the resort the other day and started to realize that TTR will be a Ghost Town for the first few days. Other than the die hard TTR fans, they will probably be dead till later in the week. So for us that arrive on the 15th, I think it is our duty to set the pace for how the rest of the resort should be. Daring to Tempt!!! That's my motto for the first week.
Hello All- First timers we will be there the 17th-27th of August what do the men typically wear for theme nights? Can any past TTR folks list some suggestions for each theme night..TIA
As long as it is after the 17th Ha just kidding. I think the issue with country music though is you either love it or hate it. I am hoping for more variety with music at the new TTR. And no more of those mash ups where they play 30 seconds of a song and then mix in another for 30 seconds and so on. And if they made a country music all day thing then I would be miserable Ok a song here or there to create variety. Nothing wrong with that.
I hope it isn't like a ghost town. I mean it only takes a few to make a great party. I agree w your premise though that there likely won't be as many people due to only being partially complete, feats of the soft opening, less overlapping dates since arrivals can only start on the 15th but there will also be positives for us... easy to get dinner reservations, plenty of alcohol, excitement of partying in a new environment. Just hope it happens and no bumping as it looks like both desires are almost full.
No question it will be different for all of us. We will be new pioneers on vaguely familiar territory. But we will have plenty of cool savvy explorers, n our midst, in order to have a great fun-filled baptism of the new mecca We will christian the joint with the righteous 'Dis Is How We Do It' protocol that we all know and love
It has been my experience that Country music is not really a popular genre in Cancun. There are not any real country bars in Cancun proper, thatvwe are aware of, and therefore the locals are not fans. As you say, Kyle, the odd new country tune gets played at the Sexy Pool, but generally it is a cross-over hit (I.e. friends in low places, I love this bar, country girl, etc) But if a full day of country music is allowed, then Marilyn wants a full day of hard core Metal (Metallica, Priest, Maiden, Rage, Pantera, Megadeath) In a round about way I guess what I am saying is, we support the campaign, so long as we can Bang our Heads (Metal Health will Drive you Mad) for a full day as a trade-off All kidding aside, I tried to implement a "It's Your Hour" feature, which would've been right after the scheduled Noon pool activity each day, provided someone was interested in playing DJ for an Hour. In return for being allowed permission to assume control of the tuneage, a fee would be charged as a charitable donation to TTR's charity of choice. It seemed to be a welcomed idea, and needed approval from upstairs. However a minor regime change took place (The No Fun Era and No Nakedness during Shows) soo after and the idea never materialized and got lost along the way towards reconstruction. Maybe I will resurrect it next month..........depending!???
The reason Dennis and I want to go when the resort opens is because we believe there will be quite a few TTR veterans there wanting to break in the new place and to see friends we haven't been able to see since it was closed for renos. I can see quite a few of us wandering around for a bit trying to figure out where all the new shit is, but I don't think it will be a ghost town. 24 days until we are there to pop the TTR cherry!!!!
Right. Going at a different time than you normally do also means meeting different people which is fun and interesting!
I think that there will be so many TTR regulars there, that it will look like a who's who. We shouldn't have any issues getting the party started! I agree about no lines for reservations and we should have the run of the place, which really sounds good to me. Service should be impeccable, at least it should be now that Mario has already claimed it to be a 4.5!
We will be there Aug 28-Sept 2...all our shopping is done just on countdown...our flight gets in at 6am though on the 28th too early to drink
