Had my drink spiked at a reputable club in Washington DC. The drink actually belonged to a girl at our table but we ended up switching our glasses. There was a group of aggressive guys in the section next to us, the conflict was brewing all night. Been to Mexico several times, as well as Dominican Republic - no issues whatsoever. Like everyone had said, use common sense, trust your senses. If something seems wrong, it probably is.
I (andrew) am at that point in my life where I wish someone would spike my drink and have their way with me. Hell at my age male or female would be OK lol
My feeling is that the ratio of shitty people is exactly the same, no matter what country you're in. Do some people get their drink spiked in Mexico? Yep. Do some people get their drink spiked in the U.S.? Yep. There's also some percentage of those people in Mexico who got drunker faster than they thought they would because it's hot and they're day-drinking for a week straight. The problem is, everybody has a little natural anxiety when they're in another country and culture, so you can see a few isolated incidents and vastly overestimate the chances it's going to happen to you. Like so many people here have said: Use a Bubba with a covered lid, keep an eye on your drink (which, let's face it, will be within a foot of your head at all times anyway), hang out with cool friends, and you're going to be just fine.
It's all be said before, be smart, be careful and watch what you drink and how much. We usually drink the bar grade vodka but I do get a bottle of Jack Daniels at the airport when we get there and bring a bottle of UV vodka for the misses in our checked luggage. For me it was Chinos, that SOB ruffied me!!! I'm kidding... but I have seriously gotten fucked up at the resort and on the Boobs Cruise. I'm 99% sure it wasn't the staff or anyone else other then my stupid self drinking like a fish without eating and trying to keep up or blaze past everyone else. Yep, I was drunk first.. Yep, I'm a dumb ass. And yes, Chinos will out drink your ass every time.
I understand that you guys love TTR, but don't you ever feel the need to vacation in other places just for the experience? I'm just asking; I never visit the same place twice. But then again...I like variety
True...I have had wild times in other places though. This will probably be a one and done. I have other places I need to visit before I start repeating. You only have so many opportunities in life.
Hey, maybe you just wouldn't like it before or even after the renovations... We have met some doosies that didn't do much research and hated every minute they were there. To their dismay, a turd in the punch-bowl sticks out. I'm sure by the time us repeaters were sick and tired of them, they wished their visit was over. Oh the fun to antagonize and instigate their living hell for a week was a pleasure some have taken. I sure hope you have a good time if you choose TTR.
The old TTR was a very special place that many have visited and fell in love with and returned year after year, what happens in the future will be determined. It's not the place it's the people, there are very few places around that we have found in our lifetime that are like this. We and many if not all of the CCC peeps hope this doesn't change with the new updated TTR and only gets better with the new playground. T
Where are these other places you have had wild times at? We have been all over the Caribbean, Jamaica, Europe and Asia...most resorts we have been to are ok...romantic, beautiful, great food, beach ect...but honestly pretty boring. We still vacation in other places, but TTR is by far the most fun vacation of the year. And the only spiked drinks I have had in Mexico are the pink shit and the orange shit...that stuff will mess you up lol
