I copied this directly from the Temptation blog about packing tips that was posted on 06/09/17. PACKING TIPS FOR YOUR TEMPTATION CANCUN RESORT VACATION… #2 BUBBA MUG If you plan to drink on the beach or poolside during your all-inclusive stay, you may find yourself seriously annoyed with traditional cups. A bubba mug takes care of this problem by serving as a refillable container that not only keeps your beverages cold, but keeps them protected from weather elements as well. Bringing a large insulated mug can also mean fewer trips to the bar and more time to relax.
Is there a reason for people jumping to conclusions about the hotel not allowing the mugs? I have not seen anything anywhere that would lead me to believe or think that this is the case. People where all worried about the resort changing the atmosphere and that seems to be not the case at all. So why do we keep complaining about things we have no evidence of happening. PEOPLE THINK POSITIVE.
I am totally thinking positive, as I am perpetually optimistic, but I do believe there was something that stated something about this at some point(I know that isn't helpful at all, haha. maybe it was just a rumor from someone's bunghole). Something about making the image around the pool more classy compared to other hotels, and not having people just filling up huge 54oz mugs. I am sorry if I feed into something that didn't have a solid backing. But at least now there is that offical statement from the blog, so that happily puts this to bed for me
@ScubaSteve I know exactly who it was and on what thread...you didn't pull it out of your ass. They stated that they were in the know from speaking to higher ups and that the resort wanted a classier atmosphere which would disallow Bubbas. Nikki
So do the bartenders put the drink in the mug for you, or do they hand you a drink in a plastic cup with the idea that you will pour it into the mug yourself? If the mug goes behind the bar where other drink preparation is being conducted, I could see that being a health code concern. Other than that, I don't see why there would be a problem.
They'll take the mug, wash it out and give you a fresh drink in it. It's the only way to go, IMO. If you use one of the crappy little cups they have on hand, you spend three-quarters of your day standing in line at the bar (and end up with pool water in your drink).
