Apologies for the delayed follow up...I am on vacation.

Looks like I received the approval for observations / thoughts / opinions.

I will go back between negative and positive. Again these are just based on my observations. I have no inside information. I am not in construction. And I did NOT stay at a Holiday Inn last night

I am going to go and copy what I shared with steve on how I got to see some neat stuff. Will be back and post that to start.

 

So my visit yesterday...
I took pictures out front and it was clear I wasn't getting in that way. So I went to the Albatross entrance on the north (or is it west) side of TTR and told the security that I was there to negotiate a cruise for my family with albatross. He let me in and I got a good view of that side of the resort.

So then I went down to the beach side and got some good pics of the tower. There was a cardboard section down and some workers were going back and forth so I just followed them in. Got some pics of the new jacuzzi, the pool area, Etc.

So then I went down near the Temptation suites. And quiet pool.

Last but not least I met a nice local fisherman who was curious how I got in and then gave me his opinions on the renovation progress. Stating he is there every day.

So I will start with my first observation. As I went down the Albatross ally I walked past the 4000 block and then 5000 block, think the 4000 is the area away from the beach right and 5000 on the beach. To be frank, I was disappointed with the progress. I like to think I am a positive guy but just telling it how I observed it. In my opinion, I don't think this area will be a part of the soft opening. The 4000 block rooms were pretty much just gutted. Again I am no expert but there were wires hanging, plaster everywhere, holes in the walls etc. There was about a person per room working. I have no idea if they can make it by August 15th but there is a lot to do. I didn't see any rooms in this area that had or were even close to having their signature colorful wallpaper on yet

Maybe this area opens later in the year?

 

Sorry I was asked to not share them. I am not sure if they want me distributing them either. I will ask. I have received many requests but want to honor Steve's wishes

 

I imagine that they are doing the old rooms unit by unit and not as a whole. I assume that others are already done. Hard to say but still six weeks to go

 

Next observation I posted in the jacuzzi thread.

The jacuzzi looks awesome. It looks larger than the picture. Has a raised side to it. Overlooks the sexy pool and the ocean. Views from it are going to be amazing. I have no idea if they are going to make it exclusive (like tower only or premier only) but it is going to be a popular place. They haven't put any railings in anywhere yet. Makes sense they come last but they are going to have to or sturdy glass as it is quite a drop down to the edge of the pool. End result though is this is going to be a great party area.

 

Next observation...

I entered the pool area from the beach. To the left of the premier bar if you are facing the hotel. A lot of work still on concrete and electric and plumbing, etc. looked like the tile in the pool was mostly done except some holes where they were still working on the guts of the pool. The edges had lots of unfinished concrete and holes in various places on the pad. Like I said before I am no expert but it sure looked like a challenge for the sexy pool to be ready by August 15th. I am a positive guy but lots to still do in 6 weeks. Fingers crossed.
