Hey if you're going to act like that they deserve what they get, at Tempation you have to have respect for everyone. For the most part the single guys we have met have been great, it's the single male groups acting like teenagers that saw their first set of boobs and woman in a thong, running up and down the halls at 3 am knocking on everyone's doors, doing cannon balls in the pool during the day, nobody wants to deal with that crap. Hopefully the new pricing will eliminate them from showing up again. T
Clearly we are getting closer to the opening date. Anyone think they are going to change the camera policy? hahaha
Isn't it nice to be close to opening date, and on to all the old topics again? Soon we'll be back to bacon, and the running buffet! Good times!
This is a long debated topic, and if you go through past threads, you can kind of find lots of stuff about it. But for right now I can either work (which I don't want to do haha) or just to briefly explain this as clear as I can: The offical policy is "no taking pictures during the games" - I have seen this enforced by security and the entertainment staff I guess the unofficial thing is "don't take pictures when you shouldn't". (clear as mud right?) - And this is kind of enforced by security and guests together. I like to say "use your brain to decided if you should be taking a picture at this moment or not, and make sure everyone that is in the picture knows you are taking it". - but only people self aware with respect self enforce this. Standing on the edge of the sexy pool taking a large pool shot, or walking around holding your phone out doing god knows what with it, is an easy way to get someone to walk over to you directly and ask you to stop, or go tell security to ask you to stop. The repercussions of this could be as simple as you saying sorry "I wasn't trying to be inappropriate" and stopping, to having security ask you to delete whatever pictures you are taking, to having security take your camera, to another guest throwing your phone in the pool. The main locations this matters at are around the sexy pool, and at the night club. Really the only people that are in my pictures are people I know, and they know I am taking a picture. Cause I say "do you mind if I get a picture?". I have also been in the sexy pool where 25+ of us all did picture time with multiple cameras, we made sure the backdrop didn't have anyone else in it, and any girls that don't want to be fully exposed just sunk in the water a little lower. I have also been part of smaller groups you know just don't care, and you pretty much take whatever pics you want. (but these are people that are already very comfortable with one another) On my first few trips, I was pretty skeptical of even taking the camera out of my room by day, or using it outside of a restaurant at night, as I didn't want to be "that guy". But it can be a bummer to go on vacation and come back with no fun pics. So as I learned the ropes and made more friends, this has become easier and better. But in summary, just be mindful and respectful of others, and you won't have a problem. (Feel free to look at the two albums under the media tab in my profile to get a sense of what I have taken in the past and what I have posted. I have also taken way more pics of others that I would ever share somewhere that isn't secured and the public can at them.)
Ok...I understand. I don't normally take pictures of folks anyway. The only exception is if I come across some really cool resort staff. I will take pictures with them - particularly the entertainment teams. Usually, other resort guests will ask me to pose for pictures. If someone does that, I typically ask them to send me a copy of the picture. If I follow my normal MO, I should be ok at Temptations. For anything else that might be noteworthy but inappropriate as a photo keepsake, I will take a mental snapshot.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "mental snapshot" ...... didn't your mother tell you that you would go blind and/or grow hair on your palms ??
So I've read through this thread since the "single guys" caught my attention because - I'm a single guy. I always travel alone because well I don't have anyone to travel with. Which is just fine. But I'm looking at places to travel in the Caribbean and of course googling "single travel Caribbean" will eventually lead you here. So to get to the question - is Temptations really going to be that interesting for single guys? Watched some videos and saw what looked like spring break and not interested in that. But would like a good beach experience where might be able to be hang out with some adults and have a good time. Will there be other singles there to hang out with? Is it easy to meet new people and have make new friends? Don't want to spend a vacation in my room. And I realize of course a lot of this will have to do with how active I am in meeting people. Just curious if they is a "single guy" stigma at this type of resort. Thanks for any opinions!
