Steve I assume you moved your original post or deleted it fearing it was premature? As I can't find it. Apologies if I am just missing it.

Received this email from Temptation a short time ago like I am sure many of you. But for those who did not figured you would be interested.

    Viva le expansion!

Temptation, the number one adult-centric, all-inclusive resort in Cancun, has announced plans to expand its portfolio internationally with a new resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The new project announced today is in addition to the brand’s forthcoming, highly-anticipated multi-million-dollar renovation of Temptation Cancun Resort, scheduled to reopen this August. This expansion is the beginning of a global growth plan to bring the brand and its mission to new audiences.

The new location in Punta Cana on the northeastern coast of the Dominican Republic, marks an exciting chapter for Temptation, positioning the brand at the forefront of the adult vacation industry. As the "Playground for Grown-Ups,” Temptation will maintain the topless-optional, adults-only, all-inclusive concept. Scheduled to open in late 2019, Temptation will feature 496 guestrooms and suites and will be set on 62 acres of landscaped grounds.

"The life-changing experience we have provided our guests for the past ten years with Temptation Cancun Resort, in a relaxing, fun and sensual atmosphere, has made us leaders of this segment in Mexico,” said Rodrigo de la Peña, CEO of Original Group. "This success, combined with our market expertise and our entrepreneurial and daring spirit, has led us to our next, exciting stage. Our new resort in the Dominican Republic, set to open at the end of 2019, is the first part of our ambitious plans to continue expanding and establishing ourselves as the leaders of the adult travel industry worldwide.”

Currently undergoing a significant revamp, Temptation Cancun Resort will redefine Cancun’s skyline with a seven-story multicolor façade, 430 newly designed rooms and suites, as well as restaurants, bars and much more. The anticipated redesign is being led by popular "Sensual Minimalism” designer Karim Rashid and has already received numerous acco-lades in the design industry, including the 2016 Construction & Engineering Awards.

Additional locations and plans for expansion will be announced at a later time.

Yes, I was asked to remove my previous post. I guess since this is a formal announcement from the hotel we are free to discuss once again.

I don't think I have even been to Punta Cana, but for some reason I have the impression that it is less established then Cancun. But I could be completely making that up in my own head for no reason at all. Or that impression could come from my parents saying that when they went, but I feel like if I am thinking correctly that was after a natural disaster years back.

To me a major factor is the quality of the resort itself and what goes on there. I mean a beach is a beach(not necessarily in TTRs case) , a pool is a pool, and sand and excursions are sand and excursions (if you even go off-site and on them). A major factor to me is how long and difficult it is to get there, and what is the cost associated with it. This being easy from the east coast of the US, is a major factor in my travels to Cancun. If this new location is easy and flights are inexpensive, I can't see why I wouldn't give it a try.

It's amazing to me when you say Cancun to people and they just go "Ahh" and roll their eyes. I had someone be all like 'no way I would never go to that part of Mexico, Riviera Maya is so much better'. They had never even been there and I had to be the one to say that you fly into the airport in Cancun, and it's like 45 minutes away. They were very doubtful I was telling the truth, and probably didn't like the info they got from Google 10 minutes later.

At least some family, some friends, and so co-workers will think I am less weird just going to Cancun all the time. Other people already know why ;)

The end of 2019 does seem like a really long time away tough.

Is this your long-winded way of saying we're meeting up in Punta Cana for the opener?

Several requests and suggestions from the resort lately. Does this mean they are watching us? :) More so than typical?

Hey Original Reaorts / Temptation resort watching person... We will be there August 15th and if you need someone to stay in the new penthouse room or even master suite we would be willing to do so and say all sorts of nice things on here, social media, trip advisor, etc. Just throwing it out there.

There are a lot of fights from philly to Punta Cana DR. About the same amount as Cancun. For some reason they tend to be a little more. But another option of course is a good thing. Beaches are supposedly really nice but as we know that depends a lot on exact location.

Hahahaha Yep, totally second Kyle's post, we will be there on the 19th and totally can review a Tower Room. I believe Kyle and our past trip reviews are some of the most informative and entertaining.

We've been to Punta Cana (10 years ago). It is pretty amazing for culture, beaches, people, weather, hospitality, etc.....Honestly...I loved it.

Only reason we haven't been back is because we found TTR. Every time we'd look at going to Punta Cana or anywhere else...we just couldn't imagine going to a 'typical' resort again. We've now been to TTR 7 times! I'm pumped for this!
