The couple of trip reports we have done I sent Steve a PM to move them to the proper section on the forums, with in a day it was done. With the way you word things I'm sure it will be both, informative and real funny. T
You're correct about the Desire cruise. I knew he was doing that but was really hoping since they brought him back for the final week they would bring him back. It will be strange getting to know a whole new crew!!! I had just gotten to know Callie and Gus when they had announced the closing. Hope the new crew have the personality to deal with all of us drunk, half and sometimes completely naked fools!
Thanks Steve for the follow-up. I find it funny that not a rooms been booked, a meal served or a drink poured and Mr Cruz upgrades his hotel to 4.5 star. Hope he's right, but he may want to let his guests make that decision. Looking forward to another great Halloween
To be fair, star ratings are awarded by third parties not by the hotel themselves or guests. Different rating systems use different criteria, but I don't think it unreasonable for the new hotel to aspire to 4.5 stars given the upgrades.
I agree with Altracy above. While they may aspire to 4.5 stars (and I'm sure all resorts would love to be considered 4+ stars), 4.5 stars is very high luxury and service. Whether they achieve their goal remains to be seen, but 4.5 is an exclusive club, with exclusive pricing, and for sure a significant portion of the TTR community will be filtered out by this. We will see what effect that will have on the atmosphere we all have grown to love so much at Temptation.
On price increase... all I can say is Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder. People who could go 4x a year, can now go 2x per year with the price increase. What that means, at least to me is, that those people will pack even more party firepower into their 2 weeks, because the price point makes it hard to go 4x. Same formula seems sound as you carry it down the line. If before you were able to go 2x a year, now you go once. If once, then every other year, etc. If it's the same awesomely fun adult experience, but the backdrop is that much better, I can make that logical connection easily enough. Or, you could: A) get another side job,; or B) drop something else you're paying for (if there's other discretionary money going in a direction which isn't as much fun as TTR, like your curling club... or whatever).
our thoughts were if we usually go 10 nights, and its same great fun, but better accom. then 7 nights would be fine.
