Just ask him what the "Sustantially Complete" date is in the construction companies contract. That's a straight forward question and one that was assuredly part of the construction bid process. The construction company has apparently given him a partial occupancy date of Aug 15, which suggests to me that all vertical construction will be done by then with the most time consuming work........fits and finishes stuff......still to be completed.
@Steve - I am guessing that at this point the interview will never happen? Even though we are pretty far down the road on the renovation, I think it would still be great to get info from management about what the future will bring. Your thoughts?
I've given up on this, unfortunately it seems the hotel are reluctant. The hotel have had the questions since the New Year, several answers to which have now become apparent through time. Our last communication was a few weeks ago, they said we could do the interview but I wasn't allowed to video it, their answers would be scripted and they wouldn't elaborate or take supplementary questions. I wanted to video it so that I didn't have to recollect the answers and risk interpreting them wrongly, and also not have to take notes and transcribe them afterwards. I replied that since it would all be scripted there would be little point in having a face to face meeting since it would be more like a play than an interview, and asked if they could email me their answers. That was the last I heard and I never received any further email. Not sure why they don't want to engage with their largest online base of loyal customers with a contact 5 minutes down the road, seems they'd rather fly out to sex shows in Canada and travel agent reward events in the UK that probably bring them very few sales and exposure.
If you think that is frustrating...try working with Butch Stewart and his kid. (They have no loyalty to their clinet base but enormous advertising budget to the globe)
Thanks for your response Steve. Pretty much in-line with what I figured. It really is too bad that they have decided to virtually ignore their most loyal client base. We are the best publicity they could possibly have - and they choose to ignore us instead of giving us a reason to be even more enthusiastic then ever. Their loss.
Not surprising. If they had been genuinely interested in giving their LOYAL repeat clientele answers, then it would have been completed within a month. Every large business/corporation usually has a spokesperson or at least a marketing rep to answer questions. Im pretty sure they know that a large percentage of their repeat base will return no matter the price, or what they do or dont do. They have a captive market in Cancun as far as resort atmosphere.
in my opinion Temptation higher-ups should listen to all the premier people and the repeat customers most hotels don't get as many repeaters as Temptation does year after yearmost people go to a place that they change the place and go somewhere else but for the Temptation family people keep coming back not only for the wonderful time we have it Temptations but also for all the friends that we have met in the past and future so I hope they read this thread and understand it can be a beautiful hotel but if you want to keep it filled up I think Premier people and the repeaters are most of their clientele
They probably figure they already have us, so why waste time or energy catering to our need or Desire for answers that at the end of the day don't mean much. There going to do whatever they want to do and we'll either deal with it or we'll move on. Most likely we'll deal with it because on TTR's worst day, they're better than any other resort we've personally experienced!
I have to agree with you guys on that Temptations is superb over all other hotelswhen it comes to the hotel and the whole package of having funwe have been there 14 times to temptations and have met some of the greatest people I know all over the worldand other people that do not go to Temptations wonder why. we keep going back to the same place and it's people like you and others we've met that make it the awesomest time ever and of course the wonderful staff we hope that they definitely keep a lot of the staffcuz that is part of what makes Temptations so greatbut overall the Temptation regulars do have a voice and we need to let them know loud and clear we love Temptations and please be fair with usbecause we spend our hard-earned money at the wonderful Resort of Temptationsand I believe we should be somewhat appreciated by them Temptation does not stay filled up on its own
