Does anyone know if any work was done to beach. We love TTR but would like to go to the beach some. Looking at August thx
They brought a huge amount of sand in, back in January and had it piled up as if they intended to spread it. Not sure what they could do about the sea grass or the steel cable that ran parallel to the beach or for that matter the ugly black barriers in front of the marina.
Last I saw they hadn't spread the sand it was still there in piles. probably too early in the process for that. Also, there's a lot of junk on the beach at the moment towards the dock. The old rickety dock has been replaced by a nice new solid one and the wood from the old one was all dumped on the beach.
Someone told Tyler last year that there was a plan for the beach as well. Of course half of everything you hear is wrong and the other half is incorrect!
There is a beach at TTR? We've been there 5 times and have never set foot in the water there. Sexy pool is just too much fun..
You're not missing that much. The water is a little dirtier there due to the high traffic of catamarans coming in and out, so I do believe that we can blame Steve for this!!! LOL Although, going down to the beach for a morning cup of coffee is one of our must do's, along with drinking heavily, getting naked as often as I can get away with and several beach massages.
I understand they serve the purpose of helping slow down erosion, but it doesn't change the fact that they are ugly. I've seen similar ones used in other areas of the world but they always seem to be a little nicer to look at. I believe they are industrial canvas bags that are filled with a marine concrete pumped into them. I just wished they could come up with something a little nicer to look at.
Steve you're the Rock and in the know all the time. When minds start wondering which is natural considering the situation, you jump in with facts . You are very much appreciated
Thank you! I try my best to keep you all informed. Was there yesterday. The wood was still all over the beach by the dock. The previous piles of sand had flattened out a lot and the beach didn't look any bigger than before. Maybe, it blew away But I'd expect they'll repeat the dumping extra sand process closer to opening, when they actually care about how it looks.
