I guess that depends on what your definition of "young people" is. I usually find myself on the younger side at the resort (34), and have been going for 3+ years. So Elyse on her first visit would have been under 30, not sure she would have considered, and still doesn't, herself as an "older people". Even at 25 I would have been able to afford the upscale prices. Obviously the resort is going to try to market to another generation (not as in age generation, but as not just the same people that have been going for 20+ years stop...new people need to start). Makes no sense to keep things the same for years, and have the resort die as people age themselves out of this type of vacation spot. All of us know that age doesn't matter when we are there, but I can tell you for a fact I know 10+ friends that weren't interested in going before, because they thought the place was too dated and the crowd was much older, but are now interested for the reopen. All of these people are younger 27-34, and can afford it at any realistic price point.
Awesome info find Kyle. Just another thing to be excited for! If they are open 24/7, and the quiet pool is now the pool open all night (or at least super late) then that will be pretty awesome to have Jacuzzi's around it. Security will have to keep their eye out, but I am sure we will all be super behaved and not do anything against the rules.
Wonder where they would out them? I imagine they would have to be pretty close to the pool. Not much room anywhere else.
I wouldn't get too excited until we actually see these things. The website probably has half the stuff copied over from their old site, and the chat operators are there to assist you with booking. I'm pretty sure they don't know much about anything else and probably have never been to the hotel. It's only a month or so since they said all the existing rooms had finished their renovations when they hadn't even started. Somehow I cant see "daring darts" and possibly even Naked Tequila Volleyball being part of the new set up.
Their website says the quiet pool bar will be open till 11pm. I can't see them making either of the pools open 24 hours, so they could do with something like a communal jacuzzi. I think the games like tequila volleyball will stay. Re age, I was 29 first time I visited. Had to save up for over half a year to afford it. Life has been good to me and I'm now earning triple what I did back then, so cost isn't a major problem for me, but having been there I appreciate it'll be hard for some.
Funhole or jacuzzi??? That looks more like a jacuzzi to me!! or maybe this is on a balcony IMG_4792 by Nikki&Ira posted May 4, 2017 at 2:56 PM
Yes. Those people answering the questions are probably just told to be very positive and tell us what we want to hear. Like you said, those folk most likely have never been to TTR. I hope the "vibe" remains near the same, but I'll stick to my original opinion that they arent investing $40 million plus to keep the status quo, or "middle class"clientele that made them rich. I dont think it will work out the way they hope for in the long run (mainly because of location and rates), but time will tell.
