This is way over priced, in 2015 we paid for a garden view with the shortest flights possible from CT for 10 nights 09/26 to 10/06 was $2160 for both of us. In 2016 08/27 to 09/04 it was $2232 for both of us only difference it was for 8 nights. Both of these trips could have been cheaper if we want to spend all day with flights. What I am finding at this time for the October 2017 dates is around $3000 + or - for 8 nights with flights, not great but not horrible either. The prices will settle down some after the newness wears off but not sure when that will be. T
I just hope they come down to a reasonable rate. I don't mind spending a little more especially if the place is going to be nicer but around 6k I just can't justify that amount.

Please check alphrooms. We just booked the ocean view room in Oct. for $240 a night per couple. We used miles for our air. I hate to see anyone pay too much.
It is hard to tell what you are really paying for the hotel when you show a flight + hotel rate and don't share your exact dates or where you are coming from. It is POSSIBLE in your first post the air is really expensive right? It is POSSIBLE in your later post that the nightly rate is so high because you went to the hotel website rack rate and/or you picked a time that is almost sold out. How about sharing your exact dates and where you are flying from and we can all see if we can beat the price you are quoting? Can't hurt. Could help. We are paying $300 a night for the opening in a suite. We have found there are ways to get better rates so let us try and see if your dates are the exception.

Cheaptickets.com October 20-29 2017 trendy ocean view $2781 -150 using ESCAPADE discount code for a total price for the hotel of $2631 for two people. $2631/9 = $292 total per night. like I said above you are either getting rack rate or airfare from Reno costs a lot. You can't blame the hotel. Yes it is more expensive than 2015 and 2016 but what else would you expect after a renovation? $292 a night is very different than the $500+ and $600+ a night quoted above. We are planing on going again April next year. I was just kicking around the idea of Halloween this year.
