    I still think it is 7 storeys as per their website:

    Let's do the math.

    From 1st Jan (a week or so after vertical construction started) until Aug 15 there are 225 days.

    During the first 90 days (40% of the time) they have done lets say 4.5 of the 7 storeys (65% of the work). This includes the two lowest floors which have much more structure than those above. Let's allow for that and say 70% of the work is done.

    So, they have 60% of the time remaining to complete 30% of the construction.

    Steve,

    I am with you and staying very optimistic. We have booked Aug 25th thru the 3rd of Sept. Purely from a business standpoint I believe that they will have the majority of the work done and at the least the main venues open. They need to start making money again. Garden room Tower room whats the difference the magic happens at the pool and the night clubs and defiantly on the Boobs Cruise ( ready to book as soon as the dates are open). I will have fun no matter what, and I am not going to stress out over the small details. Cancun or Bust.

    I'm not sure how Karim Rashid or Mexico counts stories of buildings but around here generally anything that is above the ground level with a roof over head is considered a story. If this picture is a true rendering and to to scale I'm counting 10 stories. I know for some other countries the ground level floor is floor # zero and this would make the tower 9 stories or floors. It really doesn't matter just get it done in time for the reopening.

    The 3000 building looks a little drafty without the windows and doors but that could come in handy with the upcoming room crawls.

    The end of the new building sure looks a lot closer to the beach than I thought it would be. Makes sense making those rooms the ocean front lush tower rooms maybe??? Versus the bash tower ocean view rooms which are set further back??? Just a guess

    They have 50% of the structure (concrete slabs n columns) done. Not any finishes which in my experience takes more time

    I hope they were planning on some elevators in the tower area otherwise there are going to be many people crashing in the stairways.
